Shapeshifting into WILD (help for those misunderstanding transition)

Alright so I often read a lot of posts in this section of the forum, with people saying that they don't know what to do after sleep paralysis, as they sit in it for hours and nothing happens What most may not get is that in normal cases, you shouldn't be sitting in SP for so long, as SP should only last for as long as you dream and in some cases a bit after/before the dream. In that case, only two things are possible : there is something wrong with you for being in SP so long, or your not really in SP.

So on to my advice, some people don't know when to get up out of bed during SP. Once you are sure you have reached SP, there are a couple of signs most people experience, although its different for everybody. Some get vibrations, others hear voices and feel people touching them. Heaviness itself does not count, because I (Like some of you) spent months trying to WILD, thinking that I was in SP because parts of my body felt numb, when in reality it was because I hadn't moved in a long time. For me personally, I get loud vibrations sounding like grinding metal and ringing in my ears and I also feel them throughout my body. My body feels very heavy and stays in this state for no longer than 1 minute usually. It is at this point I begin t transition. After feeling SP, I start to feel a shift in physical manifestation of my own body. It's hard to explain it but I felt it this morning in the WILD I had just minutes ago. It was as if my body was being stretched apart, limb by limb, and then put back together almost, and my position on the bed had drifted slightly. Sometimes my body will float above my bed and be turned around to change its shape. After this sensation, I was ready to get up and stabilize and start my dream.

In all cases, if anyone here is wondering when to get up during SP, know that its different for everybody. You will most likely feel a change in your body, something significant, rather than just heaviness. Sometimes you will feel nothing and the vibrations will just stop, this is usually a F.A. for me. I hope my experience may help some of you who don't know when to transition.

You say you spent months trying to WILD with only feeling heaviness, when was the first time you actually got into SP and did you do anything special to do so?

My first month or so of trying WILD was all failed attempts except for one very close but still not completely lucid attempt. I would always wake up, stay up for about an hour almost, and then try going back to sleep, and the whole time I would focus on what I would see in the back of my eyes. I saw red and blue colored shapes after a couple minutes of sleeping, which changed shapes and form several times and would stop at random, and my attention would immediately be drawn to those shapes I saw in the back of my eyes. A lot of times I would feel a heaviness come upon me and would think ``OHH Im soooo close to SP now, I cant wait till it actually happens`` .... then 10 minutes later `why isn`t anything happening`` and even later ``ok I probably messed up and its been about 2 hours, might as well give up`.

Then one day, I woke up normally, went to a picnic with people from my church and then came back about 6 hours later. I went to sleep and had a little intention of WILDìng, because I was actually tired too, so this time instead of trying to focus on everything I saw behind my eyelids, and focuusing on `heaviness``, I let myself fall asleep normally how I usually do. About an hour later, my mind just woke up out of the blue, and I thought, ``great, it didn`t work, at least I got some sleep though`` however I decided to wait a bit longer and see what would happen. Within 20 seconds of my awakening from that nap without moving, my ears started to pop, and a wave like noise would go through them, this popping got more and more frequent and loud until finally it turned into a really loud ringing and vibrating all throughout my body. I though I was having a seizure and my heart was beating so fast I was scared, but I kept my eyes closed and went with this new scary experience, and 30 seconds later, I woke up in my backyard in a lucid dream!

The point is, to WILD, you must actually let yourself fall asleep passively and your mind needs to wake up right before you actually get into SP, meaning randomly, you will become aware during your nap and if you don`t move, the SP effects might hit you. Read Jeff777`s free fall tutorial, that is similar to what I`m saying right now, you need to let yourself go and only become mentally aware very briefly before the SP, and stay calm and alert. I didn`t do anything different, rather I just let myself fall asleep unlike the failed attempts where I tried to recognize every transitioning sign. If you have any more questions feel free to ask

This is excellent advice. I think a lot of people have this problem when they first start. You can't dream unless you fall asleep. You need to let yourself fall asleep.

Is there a certain way that you fall asleep then wake up/become aware right before SP? I've done it before, but on accident and I didn't realize what it was and got up :/

I'm still too new to LD'ing to know exactly how it happens. All I really know is that I go back to bed, and let my mind wonder and fall asleep, instead of intently trying to focus on blackness and counting, and before I know it, my passive awareness comes up and I feel that I have woken up mentally from the nap, just so randomly, and immediately follows SP and the vibrations etc. If you did it on accident before, I would reccomend you do exactly what you did when you reacehd SP on accident, and try to achieve the same results but stay passively alert, dont get up and don't get scared. Also, if you become lucid in a dream and you feel that the dream is about to end, stay completely still, don't open your eyes and if you did everything right, you will immediately feel the effects of SP right after waking up from the dream, and will quickly re-enter the dream.
