      Almost WILD...but not quite =(

i have been trying to LD for a while now (few months maybe) i havent had one yet but thats ok i know it takes time. but i started trying to wild a few weeks ago and the first night i tryed it i woke up around 3am stayed awake for a few mins then went back to bed like i have read about it worked the first time, after a few mins of counting my breaths i felt a wave of tingles and heard a loud poping sound in my ears and beffore i new it i was on a football field playing football.. i did not have a LD but i dont care that was Awesome! Anyway.. my problem is that ever sence that first night i cant do it agen i wake up, stay up, go to bed just as i have for a few weeks, count my breaths, do everything the same and i feel the same wave everynight but the wave comes over me and i stay clam keep my eyes closed blah blah blah, but after a few mins it just goes away and i know im not asleep so i keep trying, it happenes agen, RC, still didnt work. by that time i usually fall asleep a few min later non LD sleep =( Am i doing something wrong? any suggestions?

Okay, well there could be several problems here. Do you feel relaxed enough? You need to just let your body relax like you're going to sleep. Don't be too aware of everything, but be aware enough that your mind stays awake until the dream starts.

Are you waking up at the same time every night? It could be a problem with the actual time that you are attempting the WILD. Try switching it around and waking up at different times of the night to WILD, and see if that changes anything.

Lastly, I suggest that you try and visualize the dream scene you want to be in. What does it look like? Feel like? Smell like? Imagine yourself actually inside the dream becoming lucid. Also try not to think about "I am WILDing." or "I am attempting a WILD." just relax and let it come to you naturally.

Hope this helped! Good luck to you

I would suggest getting your head around the more basic methods such as DILD/DEILD before you go on to WILD (as you've had no previous lucid experiences). It's like trying to draw something when you have no idea what it looks like. If you do that you can familiarise yourself with dreaming and what it's like to be lucid, thereby making your efforts in trying to induce it manually easier.
