      Was I about to WILD

So last night I woke up suddenly, without knowing why I just started to drift back into sleep when I noticed a ringing noise in my ears. This noise got louder and louder until eventually it was close to unbearably loud. I thought that this was sleep paralysis so I stayed calm and didn't move until eventually I began to see some weird visuals. Right afterwards I vividly remember hearing someone open my door and come into my room, which was enough to get me to open my eyes and look at the door, which of course was closed and no one had come in.

Was this the beginning of a WILD? Also, if I want to WILD again, do I have to wait until I have slept for a certain amount of time, or can I simply WILD right when I begin to go to bed?

      Hi there RDreams,

The ringing noise you experienced was a good sign that you are at the right track in WILDing. In the WILD process, it's normal to experience ringing vibrations and weird visuals. They are what we call Sleep Paralysis. If you want to WILD again, you can do it at the very point where you began going to bed, but I bet that it's gonna be really hard to do it. I suggest you sleep for 4-6 hours then wake up and that's the time you attempt to WILD(it'll be 100% more easier than Wilding without sleep) cause your body is well rested and relaxed.

I suggest you go here for more WILD info: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/yoshis...chnique-82529/
Glad you're making progress, keep up the good work!

That sounds a bit similar to what happened to me the other night.
Except, I had no visual images/loud noises in my ears. Just vibrations.

I highly recommend getting up in the middle of the night and WILDing, just like weakamon said above.
And yes, you were in sleep paralysis
      Good job!

Yup! It sounds like you were really close to getting into a dream. Congrats, and keep it up!

It is recommended to wake up about 5-7 hours after sleeping in order to attempt to WILD. If you try to do it before bed it is MUCH harder, and isn't worth trying to do.

Sounds like vivid HH to me, creep stuff happens and you should just ignore it!
      Good Job so far!

Also, to expand on what Mancon said, check this REM graph to find out when you should roughly be waking up, 4.5 hours + is where the long REM periods occur.

You were very close. Those hallucinations were the beginnings of a dream. Next time this happens, try to follow your thoughts until they coalesce into a dream scene If you worry it is not happening on its own, you can help yourself along by visualizing a scene of your own. Make it something that engages your senses, and it will take over and become your new reality.
