Question Questions Regarding my WILD attempt

      Hi there!

I've read some guides here and other peoples' experiences and they've helped me in a few ways.

I've been doing the WILD method every night for a week now.

      Have I attained Sleep Paralysis?
I start to lose sense in my legs and arms. My arms normally have a tingle sensation my head sinks slightly into the pillow. I normally have some hallucinations at this stage. The most memorizing one was a big flash of white light. Whenever I realize I'm having a hallucination, sense comes back into my hands. It's a bit difficult for me to explain... After several minutes, I felt a really strong grip around my left wrist. It hurt a little bit, although I chose to ignore it and stay perfectly relaxed and calm. I believe this is my body checking if I am asleep? One night my eyes even twitched and I had to scratch my nose like crazy!

      I get bored?
I'm lying there patiently trying not to focus too hard on anything. I just count my breathing to avoid falling asleep. I get a weird urge to just... sleep? This is normally after an hour. I give in to this, become very sleepy, and fall asleep. I'll try a lot harder tonight to avoid this.

How long does it take yee?
I'd just like to know how long it normally takes people to into a lucid dream - preferably when you were just starting.

I hope this supplies enough detail so you can understand my exact experience.

      Thanks in advance!

      ~Pzula.

When you say every night I assume that you mean before you regularly go to sleep, I don't recommend WILDing without sleep as its very difficult/impossible. It is easiest to WILD whilst in REM sleep (when dreams occur); after about 4-7 hours of sleep. Try a WBTB (Wake Back To Bed), getting up after about 5 hours of sleep, staying up long enough to think clearly (1-30 minutes) and then lying back down and attempting a WILD. You can also try WILDing during an afternoon nap (preferably after 1-8 hours of being awake).
You sound like you have attained advanced stages of SP. Hallucinating the grip on your wrist and visual hallucinations are an indicator that you are almost in a dream. Keep passively watching the hallucinations and try to calm yourself down.
If your WILD attempt is taking more than 20 minutes or so try rolling over gently with your eyes still closed to a different position, and repeating if necessary. In my opinion a WILD shouldn't take more than 2 hours, but its different for everyone.
      Good luck!

This definitely should not take an hour. If it is taking you more than 15-20 minutes, your timing is probably wrong. Sometimes it only takes 5 or 10 minutes.

It is all about getting into the right state of mind. The benefit of lucid dreaming over other OBE/AP techniques is that you are working with your body's natural rhythms. You are trying to leverage your natural ability to sleep. Keep this in mind. You do not have to laboriously meditate yourself into some complicated trance state. You just have to fall asleep like you normally do, but keep a small part of your mind aware.
