      So close!

I was attempting a wake induced WILD (i think thats what it is) where i try "listening in" and such. i felt the SP (very wicked feeling) but couldn't clear my mind enough to the point where i could actually go lucid.

Congratulations, do you have any questions on WILD? Sometimes it just takes practice.

      Moved to the WILD forum.

It's from Michael's Raduga book, isn't it? I guess you should try another techniques besides "listening in" and you will succeed. ;D
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

but just laying there and letting your mind wander is what you usually do isn't it?

and idk if this means anything, but everytime i did the "listening in" i got hard.

The basics of any WILD are to lay still, keep your eyes closed, and let your mind wander. You can't focus too much on anything you hear or see while in SP and while trying to get into SP, you can't focus on your body or what you're feeling.

Basically you just need to lay there, relax, and let the thoughts flow. Yoshi is probably the only one who has a different method. Read it here: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/yoshis...chnique-82529/

I'm not sure what you mean by listening in, but I second Yoshi's tutorial. Got my first WILD with it.

By listening in he refers to mcwillis thread called "how to have an instant WILD".

I am conflicted with something similar as well. I seem to get very close with WILD, getting up to the Sleep Paralysis stage, but I cannot seem to get past it. I feel like my eyes can open at any moment, as in they don't really feel like they are naturally closed and in a sleeping state.

I personally see green swirls, what I think to be Hypnogogic Imagery, but it seems that it never develops into a scene or a tangible world to step into.

I have been using KingYoshi's guide and Mzzkc's guide alternatively and even combining various aspects to try it out differently. I may post my results here after tonight.

Haha, relax Joker. We are all here to help one another and support each other. Positive attitudes are good for dreaming.

Normally you don't just lay perfectly still while trying to go to sleep. Well, at least most normal people. I guess it's a bit hard to explain how it all works but you're trying to stay more aware while going to sleep and tricking yourself into SP rather than it happening after your brain shuts down.

i guess i just need to try that tonight. also i have major insomnia. will drugs like ambien effect my ability to go lucid?

also, are there any DILD techniques? i remember at least 3 of my dreams every night (if i have that many) and will realize afterwards that it was a dream.
