Unhappy I Can't Stop Falling Asleep

WILDing has always been so difficult for me because I fall asleep soooo easily.
Last night I attempted WILDing and I fell asleep just while trying to relax my body!

If anyone has any advice on how I can keep my mind awake, that would be great.
This is probably the only problem I have with WILD.
      Keep dreaming.

After you wake up to WILD try staying awake a little longer before you make your attempt.

I should probably just wake up in the first place.
Somehow I convince myself I might be able to do it just by going to bed at my normal time haha.
      Keep dreaming.

Yeah trying to WILD before bed is pointless. I tried over 100 times just to prove it to myself. If you do have a WILD it will be in NREM sleep which means it will be unstable and fade quickly.

Try doing exactly what you are doing now, only after 4 or 5 hours of sleep. It is fine to practice WILD when you first go to bed, but don't expect anything to come from it. Like Zebra said, you don't really have any vivid dreams to enter when you first go to bed at night.

Falling asleep quickly can be a good thing when you WILD. You have to fall asleep to have a successful WILD. You just need to hold on to a bit of your awareness while you do it. In any case, it is always better to fall asleep prematurely than to lie awake all night frustrated.

Zebrah's right, it's pretty difficult to WILD before sleeping around 5 hours! You'll probably end up spending an hour in SP, then enter a dream that's either unstable or short. So do a WBTB in the middle of the night if possible - stay up until you feel rather awake, but not so awake you won't be able to settle back into bed. You still might end up falling asleep at first, but that's part of finding how long you should stay up for. Some people take five minutes, others take half an hour or longer; it's different for everyone.

The point of WILD is to fall asleep while maintaining awareness - if you still find yourself falling asleep, try using a different anchor - count, listen to ambient noise, listen to your breathing, etc. Don't get too preoccupied though. You know you're getting close when your thoughts start to become wierd, nonsensical or unusual; at this point, bring your attention back to staying conscious. Keep still, and keep relaxing, then you'll eventually enter SP and a dream!

Wow, thanks guys. I'm going to try setting an alarm for 5 hours after I go to bed and stay up probably half an hour tonight. Thanks for all the help, and if things don't work there's always the next day hehe.
      I'm never giving up.
      Keep dreaming.

I'd like to hear your current progress with the wonderful information our great Dream Guides have supplied you with.

If I may add to it, I find that sleeping in a position that balances out your uncomfortable/comfortable state is critical. Take me for example. I fall asleep much too quickly on my side but find it damn near impossible to sleep on my back. The balance for me was lying on my back and resting my head to the side on my pillow. For more help, information or tips regarding the WILD process, I encourage you to click here and sift through the information many users have found invaluable for assistance with WILD'ing.

      Be more aggressive.
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

Thanks Jeff, I've already read your guide before.
I haven't had any luck recently and have mostly just been training my recall instead.
i will start WILDing again once I become better at recalling however.
      Keep dreaming.

My recall used to be in the toilet years ago. I didn't know what to do. One thing that I swear by to this day that helped me was a mantra on a gnosis website. The mantra was named "Raom Gaom" since that was the sound you'd make to remember your dreams.

      YouTube - ‪Belzebuub - A Mantra to Remember Dreams‬‏

How to Remember Your Dreams With a Raom Gaom Mantra - wikiHow

There's a video on it. Mantras work for some and don't for others. But I've never had a problem with recall ever since.

Wow, really weird haha. I will definitely try this in the morning. Did it work better when actually producing the sound out loud? Or simply internally?
      Keep dreaming.
