Hypnagogic fuzz of dreaming... Almost into LD?

It's been a long while since I've posted anything here, but my new bits of WILDing have been bringing me deep into the code, with a ton of meditation-like side effects (Clearer mind, seeing space and depth, blah blah etc.) but with the latest in LD attempts, I'm starting to get what I suspect is... ALMOST into dream state. I suspect I've developed a good bit of mentality back, since this new thingy happening is now (for the most part) able to be called up at will instead of desperate hope.

So here's it: Laying in bed with a sleeping mask on, I usually start with my newer thinking patterns which are a lot more observable and 'there' than before. As of recent time, I've tried using an activity such as playing Doom or whatever to get used to my mind's activity. This observation almost feels like if I was dreaming while awake (blocked by conscious mind of course) I can see the data in my mind all the time now, all I have to do is "request" it like requesting to move a muscle or saying something out loud. I guess it's not necessarily even JUST for lucid dreaming. I still can't "physically" experience the data though... all the time.

For the past two to three days, I've laid in bed at night or right after school to... meditate, I can confidently say? As for such, I'd take an activity that would take me reflexive thought and makes perfect sense, ie Doom above. So long as I don't... dare I say, consciously think about what I'm doing in the activity... It takes me a matter of time before I start to see the hypnagogic imagery, which I see as very dark, spacially driven shapes that fit the shapes of what I'm visualizing.

I actually can do this while awake too, as I'm typing I can see Doom in my mind while I see myself typing. But when attempting WILD, I usually start getting too 'conscious' as if trying to change the dream too early... Is that exactly my mistake? If I start controlling my dream even barely before all the imagery is in full color and sound, will that generally be enough to cause the scene to disappear? I don't get TOO excited anymore, as I think I can handle going this deep, I think I'm just trying to control too early...

As for sleep paralysis, I'm pretty sure I'm one of those "experience barely anything" people with the exception of a few auditory hallucinations that ended up distracting me and making me think I was going to need to get up.

I do wish for some input on whether my progress is really doing great or if there's something important I'm missing. I'm digging through the guides some more for tips after this post too, just to reenforce some knowledge.

      Yeyzy then ~

Hello Glitchy ! It sounds like you are making some nice progress. It is very possible that you are trying to control things too early. When SP sets in, you are first falling asleep. If you start trying to control your HH/HI, you are likely keeping your mind too active. This forced action/activity can cause you to fully wake up (lose SP), or fail to transition (stay in SP, but not be able to finish falling asleep). Just try to relax and be patient. Once you start getting HH/HI, just allow the process to do the work for you. Continue to strive toward sleep as you observe your hallucinations in a casual manner. Don't try to do too much, your dream scene will form on its own.
