Tried to WILD today... Got a wierd and very annoying "sticking" sensation.

This isn't exactly a hallucination, and I wasn't sure where to put this post either. I was lying on my stomach (I usually go on my side), and about ten minutes in, right under the bottom of my ribcage in the middle, it felt like there was... Not quite a lump, but something small that would "stick" when I breathed in, and then relax when I breathed out. It's very hard to explain.

Anyone know about what I'm trying to describe? I'm guessing it might have something to do with the diaphragm, but other than that, I honestly haven't a clue.

Nevertheless, I didn't finish my WILD attempt because I just had to move after about ten minutes of that, and I didn't feel like doing it on my side at the time.

If you don't normally sleep on your stomach it may have just been an issue with comfort. If you body isn't used to laying in a certain position for an extended period of time, discomfort can set in (pricks, unusual numbness, soreness, aches, etc). Like you said, I don't think it was a hallucination. It is possible, but you would be the best judge of that.

The problem is, I always lay on my stomach when sleeping normally (I WILD on my side) so it can't be a comfort issue.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Ah, I see. Hmm....I would suggest trying to WILD on your stomach again and see if it returns. Could have just been some random muscle spasm or something. Possibly, there was a slight difference in the way you were laying that caused the sharp prick on your inhale. Were you in SP or...?

Nope, I wasn't even close. It usually takes me a good 35 minutes or so to get to SP.
I'm doing a WBTB + WILD tonight, so I'll try then. Hopefully it doesn't come back!

Yeah, I figured. It certainly didn't seem like a hallucination. Probably just same random strange body ache/tweak. I don't think it is anything to worry about .

Just an update, which I should've done earlier but I got sidetracked. Schoolwork. x_x

Got to SP during a nap, five hours after waking. I still got that annoying feeling, but I managed to ignore it (I'll have to get it checked out at the doctor or something, haha). The SP involved a sudden "shift" in awareness, minor vibrations, the feeling that the covers were being pulled off me, and then the feeling that someone was leaning over me and touching my bare shoulder. I didn't get much HI at first, but I did get a brownish-black blur of shapes a few minutes into the SP. I then felt like my breathing was being constricted. I got a little excited so I ended up snapping out of it.

      Crap.

I'll be trying again tomorrow, as I'm off school.

You were nice and deep into SP on this one. Very close, indeed! I'm at a loss for your sticking feeling. I suppose I would have to experience it myself to really understand. It is odd that you ignored it and it went away though .

I think I might know what you are talking about. I sometimes get a weird feeling when I lie on my stomach like something is caught or stuck. I feel it right in the "V" at the bottom of my rib cage. It feels to me like my ribcage is either pushing or pulling on my diaphragm or my abdominal muscles. I've never thought it was a problem. I just move and it goes away. I just never try to WILD on my stomach!
