I've WILDed on my back, side, and stomach just depends on whichever feels the most comfortable at the time. You're trying during a WBTB right? If you have trouble falling back asleep then stay awake for a shorter amount of time. |

When learning to WILD (And i still am) i read that people said to do WILD's in your natural sleeping position. I naturally sleep on my side. I feel like when i do a WILD i should be alert and ready to pop up and be in a dream, so i lay on my back with my arms to my side and my legs casually crossed at the bottom of my bed. The first time i tried WILDing i was laying in bed for about 45 minutes i'm guessing, and nothing happened. It almost seemed like hours passed, and when i checked for sleep paralysis, because i didn't know what it felt like, i realized i had just been laying there for nothing because i could move freely. I was crushed. I thought it was because of how i was laying. I haven't successfully WILDed yet, it was only the other night i felt vibrations for the first time, but i find it easier to be in the state of mind of WILDing laying straight on my back, because when i do my natural position i feel like i should be unconscious and sleeping. |

Actually no, i'm not doing WBTB. Can you fill me in on your method? |

The best position is the most comfortable position for you. If you aren't performing your WILD during WBTB, I suggest you try it during day time naps (usually 1-8 hours after waking in the morning for best results). Trying to WILD upon first going to sleep can be very difficult. Your body/mind isn't ready for REM sleep yet and it will make the process THAT much harder. I suggest trying out several different WILD techniques and see which one best suits you. Don't be afraid to alter techniques to suit your comfort level/liking/etc. Everyone's mind is different and certain techniques will work better for different dreamers. Just experiment with it. I have a WILD technique you could give a shot as well...link is in my signature. Well, good luck to you and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask! |

Basically what Yoshi said. WILDING without a WBTB can be very difficult and is nearly impossible. If you can't do a WBTB then do it after a nap. |

What are some of your specifics regarding do you have a job/school? What time to do you wake up and how to you fit in WBTB? Do you take frequent naps? Or what? |

Build your life. Build your dreams. Build the world.
I don't have a job, only school. I usually don't purposely perform WBTBs (just because I'm too lazy |

I have to wake up at 7:00AM for school but I try to WILD ever day because I go to bed around 10PM. If you would like to WILD with a WBTB, then I suggest going to sleep earlier than you usually do because you wont be as tired in the morning. |

Thanks i think i've made a plan. I am going to go to bed around 9-9:30ish every night, and set an alarm for around 4. (I have to get up at 6 for school) And then try to WILD from there. I tried it yesterday with no luck on lucidity, just more dreams |

Build your life. Build your dreams. Build the world.
Indeed, good luck to you! Even on a failed WILD attempt, the waking up at 4 will enhance your dream recall. Which is always a good thing. Plus, you are refreshing your mind with the idea of lucid dreaming, so this could lead to random DILDs as well! |

Been trying to WILD for weeks; WBTB, afternoon naps, normal night. |

I have only ever felt something similar to vibrations once, and it was at bed time, so i don't even know if it was what i thought it was or not, seeing as i have never succeeded. |

When SP first starts/tries to set in, you may get a shivering or light vibrations feel. If SP fully sets in though, it would be pretty hard to mistake. Your body will be paralyzed for one thing |

I always thought you needed to sleep on your back. So I can WILD and enter SP while sleeping on my side? |
|
Lucid dream goals:
1. Get into SP /Check
2. have a long LD
3: Fly
4: Have some epic battles with my childhood heroes and villians (DBZ)
Every Position should be possible. Personally I feel like I am better at keeping my thoughts together and concentrating on the dream, when lying on my back. If I lie on the side, I drift off more likely, but that might be just because I believe in it. So just try it |

It doesn't matter what position your in for your WILD - There, end of the thread. |
