Try willing yourself downward. I had my first WILD recently and it felt like I dipped up and down below my body, but it was only when I willed myself downward that I actually separated from my body. |

The way I normally separate is to spin in circles. I used to just pull my dream body up and out, but I found that to be difficult sometimes and causes me to tense up. Spinning in circles fixes those problems. As soon as I actually feel like I'm rotating I know I'm in a dream and can open my eyes, move around, and stabilize the dream. |
