Hey guys, I have a question about SP and WILD for when going to bed for the first time at night...

I've recently started consciously getting into what I think is SP the first time I go to bed. I feel myself getting into this physical state where I seem to nearly instantly shut down. Everything physical just shuts and my thoughts seem to become my entire focus. I am able to get the feeling and control back to my body with some effort and will. I don't have any hallucinations or anything though but if I think of something, the image is more vivid than usual. Now I ask... is this SP and if it isn't, what is it?

Now in regards to WILD. Can I use this state to do WILD even if it's the first time I fall asleep in the night? I know the first REM stage isn't even close to happening but could it still work?
