I need help WILDing
I've been attempting to WILD for quite some time now, and despite a past success, I haven't been able to duplicate my results.
My latest attempts have gone something like this...
I wake up after about five hours of sleep, assisted by my alarm clock of course. I get out of bed, go to the bathroom and maybe grab a quick drink from the kitchen. After that, I snuggle back under my sheets and do whatever I can to relax.
Some time will pass, and as I'm laying there my body will gradually go numb, leading up from my extremities until I'm completely enveloped. This seems to happen much faster when I sleep on my back compared to sleeping on my side, my normal position. Past this, I begin to experience a sort of shaking. It feels a bit like when you self-induce Goosebumps, but less cold, less voluntary. I’m able trigger this body-wide shivering after it’s begun. The sensation only lasts for a few seconds and seems to beyond my direct ability to trigger or manipulate with absolute precision.
This is a far as I have been able to get.
I should probably mention that I never see hypnotic imagery. I’m not sure how relevant that is, though.
The one occasion I did WILD was in the morning, about an hour after I woke up. Almost nothing mentionable happened during the attempt. It was sudden, I’m not even sure if I was trying to WILD. I experienced a falling sensation and then descended into a dream: It didn’t last long.
If anyone has any suggestions or criticisms, I would be delighted to read about them below. Thanks for your time and attention.

It sounds to me like you're not relaxing enough and you're not really progressing into the dream state. My advice would be tell us more, don't move, and perhaps try imagining some dream scenes as in a VILD. That should help you pass from simply unconscious into dreaming. It is important to see hypnogogia, so watch out for that! Good luck!
