Maybe a dozen times ever, I've caught a failed reality check; when I did, I had vivid lucid dreams with fairly good control over them (changing locations, introducing people/objects to dream etc). But I'm very bad at getting myself to RC in my dreams, so a month or so ago I started trying to do WILD, and I'm having a strange problem.

I'm attempting WILD during afternoon naps, and I can now get to/maybe(?) past hypnagogia nearly every time I try it. But here's the problem. When I enter what I think (?) is a dream, each time they're very third-person perspective dreams. Yesterday afternoon, for example, I was looking a computer screen. I could make the image on the screen change at will, but I couldn't actually "enter a dream" persay, nor change the scene itself - just what was written on the computer screen. In a DILD, for example, I can easily close my dream eyes, start spinning, expect to land somewhere, open my dream eyes, and I'm there. In these dreams, it's as if I don't have eyes or a body, I'm just consciously observing or something.

The day before, it was the same deal, only I think it was more like a movie theater or something. In general, when I try to WILD, I get past sleep paralysis and hypnagogic sounds/images consistently, but then have a very impoverished/unvivid dream world to control - much, much less vivid than the DILDs that I've had, and never really interactive persay.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas to try?
