      Post WILD quotes from Laberge.

Ok, so I've had ETWOLD for some time now, and there are some things he said in the WILD chapter that kinda bugged me, but I never bothered asking. But now since the computer is free and nobody is hogging it, I figured I'd ask.

Here's a quote that makes me think.
"WILDS always happen in association with brief awakenings (sometimes only one or two seconds long) from and immediate return to REM sleep. The sleeper has a subjective impression of having been awake."

WILDS always happen in association with brief awakenings??? Always???

      Next quote.
"...whenever I spent the night in the sleep laboratory, I was highly concious of every time I awakened and made extraordinary efforts not to move more than necassary in order to minimize interference with the physiological recordings."

Hmm, he was aware of every time he woke up and made some serious efforts not to move. When I read these quotes, it leads me to believe that what we refer to as the DEILD technique, is actually the original WILD method that Laberge uses. Brief awakenings from REM, efforts not to move upon waking up??

What bugs me the most is that he talks about how many WILDS he's had compared to DILDs, and how they happened more often in naps than DILDs. But he doesn't state if he ACTIVELY tried to WILD, or if they just happened =[.

Anyways, I hope you guys see what I'm trying to say here, I don't understand why we look at DEILD as a seperate technique, when Laberge himself refers to it as the main definition of a WILD, "WILDS always happen in association with brief awakenings." Does anyone here agree with me, or am I just reading it wrong or looking into it too deeply??

Yup, anyone interested in lucid dreaming should read that book. Whenever I lose motivation I just pop that book open and bam, back into it, lol.
