      Things to do with an abandoned laptop.

      Ok, so I have come into the possession of an old Compaq Presario C300.

      I've so far essentially completely disassembled it, and have a number of thing things lying around now.

      What interests me most is I now have a LG PHILIPS LCD screen with no home. My main thrust of this particular avenue, is does anyone know a way I could somehow fix this up to input as another monitor for my desktop?

      Also I have the laptops DVD writer. Again this is a weird thing. ANy knowledge on how one would go about fixing this up to a desktop?

      If you can locate the input to the screen, there should be a number of small wires which you should be able to splice to the small end of a desktop monitor cable. Of course, it would be extremely tedious and you may not know which wires connect to which pins. I hope you have lots of free time.
