I like my laptop:) I am on the go for most things, but when I need to get the big jobs done it is my desktop.
It is my Laptop I could live with if I had to choose between the two.
So, Do you prefer a Laptop or Desktop?

Desktop.
I think [stereo]typically, gamers prefer desktops, and "haiku-writing motherfuckers" (-- Denis Leary) prefer laptops ;)
Heh I brought my laptop to certain classes. Not math/computer/science classes, but classes like anthropology, where you have to write a LOT (with very little meaning-per-word) were made easier by laptop.
Right now, I prefer it. Hook it up to a monitor or whatever and you can play your games. I like to have a laptop to travel with, so I can play old school NES games :)
Definately my dekstop. Laptop processors fail in comparison.
I like to be able to have 30 windows open at once, while listening to music, designing graphics, and streaming video.
If it can't do all that while playing Battlefield 2 in between alt+tabs and level changes...it's not worth my time.
Though the laptop I am forced to use at the moment is sufficient for minor multi-tasking and cost 3 grand, my beautiful desktop beckons to me from it's dusty Thai shelf.
Mysteryhunter, that picture blows my mind.. is that how it really looks in university classes?
I prefer my laptop but my desktop at work is great as well. :paranoid:
Yea, they're all using macs.
My laptop is much more recent than my desktop so I prefer it. There's also the big plus of being portable, I can take it to my university and leech movies/games/music using their limitless wi-fi. :D
Since I already got a laptop for my portable needs, next time I buy a pc it'll be a new desktop(or an upgrade to my current desktop), better components for a lower price.
I prefer my desktop to be honest! Having the laptop is useful if I am travelling or want to work from the Cafe downstares, but if I am indoors always my PC :)
p.s does everyone really own both lol - GEEKS :P hehe
laptop
I see an Acer in there too. (4th row)
Anyway, most people around here are switching to EEE PCs. I'm gonna get one of those when they hit the second generation this summer (or if any other company actually starts bringing some competition into that sector - doesn't look like it though, at least for Europe...)

Sweet 8.9'' goodness!
I prefer my desktop for two reasons:
1. I don't have a laptop.
2. Desktops are cheaper
Oh I also built my desktop myself so it is special.
I prefer my laptop for two reasons:
-I haven't got a new desktop for years, so my laptop is better specs-wise.
-My laptop happens to be a Tablet PC which is fucking awesome.
i only have a desktop because
a) i dont have money for two computers
b) Im not a college student.
Because im not really a 'gamer' I sometimes think I should have gotten a laptop instead. Then again.
I would be ashamed to walk around everywhere carrying one. since umm.. finnish people dont do that unless you're wearing a suit and a case and you look super important when typing with it @ a coffee house.
I dont know about you guys
sidenote, diggadog i love your avatar.
desktop:
1) I do like playing some games and desktops are better for gaming( although this one sucks, i am saving up for a cool one).
2) I suck with the laptop finger mouse thingies( i'm not sure what they are called), i like a real mouse, i know you can plug a mouse into a laptop but then that isn't practical.
Laptop
Good for everything except gaming once you're used to the touchpad. Also you have portability, especially for wireless networks. Not to mention if you want to look at porn it's much more comfortable to be on your bed. Also a great combination for people who use their desktops as TVs (ME) is using the laptop and desktop at the same time. Don't want to get off the couch to change the AVI file? Boom, install VNC and you have a remote control in your laptop! Yes, it's good being lazy. :D
I just got a laptop. My first laptop! My brother's old laptop! =D
But I'm so used to desktop. I don't really know how to start, and haven't really touched it since I got it.
I prefer my desktop by far over any laptop I've ever owned. It's just sooooo much faster and more stable, plus the screen I have is lightyears beyond a laptop screen.
Laptop. Easilly, because I can sit on the couch, and work on anything. Anywhere.
Personally, its a hard choice, i like being able to lay in my room and go on my laptop and do anything, but at the same time i like the power and gaming of a desktop, so its a tie.
All I've ever owned is laptops... I just buy one huge, extremely powerful laptop, and plug it into my screen/keyboard/mouse/speaker/other gadgets at home so it acts like a desktop I can move around every once in a while.
If I need to move around, I have a 12" tablet that's really light.
So laptops for me.
I finally set up my laptop. It's so scary... The keyboard feels too flat, and I can't afford a separate one right now. I guess I'll get used to it. *misses desktop*
I got an external keyboard on sale from Amazon... $30 with shipping. It has a blue backlight, and is a generally awesome keyboard.
But I personally prefer laptop keyboards.
