Introduction:
This topic is for the Lucid Tasks that are assigned by the Lucid Task Club and the On-Topic Administrator. Please attempt any or all of these tasks throughout the month.

Report back in this thread, even if you didn't successfully accomplish the task. Your efforts should make interesting reading! This is required in order to get credit, it is no longer sufficient just to say that you did it.

When you post about another successful attempt, please tell me if it was your first or second task from basic or advanced tasks, or first, second... seventh task from the task of the year. I need to know this so I know which wings to give you. If you only say "completed TOTY - flying car" , this doesn't tell me which wings with how many stars should I give you.

Please, make sure you post here your attempts both failures and successes, this will make this post much more dynamic.

Whoever completes any of these tasks gets the following goodies until the end of the month:

• Your name will be displayed in ORANGE in the online members list at the bottom of the main forum page. *NEW* You'll also be displayed in orange purple (by popular vote) in our Discord.
• You will receive a special title and badge.
• You will receive access to the "Lucid Task Club" which is a limited access forum for people that complete a lucid task each month. Members of this club can vote for submitted suggestions for the next month's tasks. Access to the Lucid Task Club will also grant you early access to the next month's tasks, giving you a 2-3 day window to keep your wings for the following month.

Tasks for this month:


Basic Task i - Watch the Super-Moon rise. (RelicWraith)
Basic Task ii - Perform CPR or mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a DC. (squidnapping)

Advanced Task i - Craft your own magic wand. What spell does it cast? (Letaali)
Advanced Task ii - Get yourself cornered by a violent monster. Instead of fighting, talk your way out of the situation. (RelicWraith)

BONUS TASK!! - Suck the color out of the world around you. Shuffle the colors like a deck of cards and send them back. What does the world look like now? (Letaali)


SEPTEMBER'S BEGINNER TASKS: (Anybody feel free to have fun with these, but you'll get wings only if you are a beginner. Some will change each month!)

1. Slow down, look around, describe what you see.
2. Touch the ground. What is it? Grass, asphalt?
3. Look at your body. What are you wearing?
4. Focus on different muscles in your body and make them flex.
5. Taste something. Does it taste like you'd exp
6. Find text you can read, then look at it again. Has it changed?
7. Walk barefoot for a while. How does the ground feel on your feet?

Spoiler for Basic Task ii - fail:

....I call her, but she can't hear me at all. This confuses me, and then it dawns on me.. Aha moment, felt like a braingasm. I'm dreaming!! I check my hands, 10 fingers, pretty realistic, but one finger has a bend to it. Confirmed! I fly up immediately, then go flying off over to an ocean. I fly over the ocean and it turns icy. I jump from iceberg to iceberg, having fun. It's SO beautiful. Crystal clear blue sky.

I find a building on the beach and head inside, thinking I want to do one of the monthly tasks. I see an action figure doll on the floor and decide to resuscitate him! He kind of looks like an astronaut or something. I breathe on his face, and he perks up and gives me a thumbs up! I walk into the next room, thinking I need to find a person! There's a bed, inside is another male doll! This one is bigger, looks like a big G.I. Joe. I breathe in his face, and he wakes up too, but he gives me a thumbs down. I put him down and feel the dream fade away...

Spoiler for Basic Task ii - Success! :):

At some point I do an RC (I don't remember why), and cannot BELIEVE I'm dreaming!! Yes!! Lucid. First thing I do is try to get out of the location I'm in. I jump into my brother's car, and we drive off. It's like a roller coaster ride, and because I'm lucid, I let myself fly a little higher on the bumps, enjoying it. Then I get out and start walking down a dark dirt road in a town. I come across two tiny people. A tiny woman in a dress faints in front of me (synchronicity with recent posts about fainting?). I pick her up and perform mouth to mouth on her. She perks back up, and starts crying. Oops. I put her down. Then I pick up the little man, who is wearing tribal shaman garb. I perform mouth to mouth on him. When put him back down, he takes out some paint and paints his face. Then he beats on his shaman's drum. I'm wondering if he's getting ready for war with me? Time to go.

Spoiler for Basic Task i - fail:

I'm in a dark house. I suspect I am dreaming [don't remember why]. I do an RC, looking at my hands, and took extra time to double check. It works, 10 fingers but slightly off. Lucid. I find my way out of the house by flying through a screen on the ceiling. I knew this would affect stability and it did. On roof now, I try to summon a super moon. The moon does start rising, but it's not amazingly big - just a little bit bigger than normal. It has a face on it. And it just seems like a reflection of the moon, rather than the moon itself. I decide it's a fail. The dream scene melts away and I awaken naturally.

Spoiler for Basic Task i - SUCCESS! :) & Advanced Task i - fail:

Eventually I'm back sitting on the grass, watching the leaves falling. Kids passing by (including mine). I notice I have three legs. I am lucid (no other RC needed). I stand up, my third leg disappearing, and I'm suddenly in my real front yard/driveway. My kids are with me. I look to the sky and as if it can read my mind about what I want to do, it turns dark. "Super moon RISE!" Suddenly, a moon starts appearing at the horizon. "Super moon rise!" It rises and gets bigger. "Rise! Super moon!" It's getting enormous!! It's BEAUTIFUL!

I suddenly feel the impulse to just go fly to the moon. As I'm getting ready to do so, my son pulls on my clothing and stops me. He doesn't want me to leave. I feel frustrated, but I realize I need to stay with my kids, I am needed here. So then, I think, I guess I'll do the next task. I start looking around the yard for a suitable stick to be my wand. I pick something up, but it's just coconut bark stuff. No good. My son keeps his hand on my clothing the whole time, following me closely. The dream ends shortly after, before I can find a wand.

Spoiler for Advanced Task i - Success, Advanced task ii - fail, Bonus - fail:

I go outside. It's a beautiful day. I think about the first task I want to do. Instead of looking on the ground for sticks like last time (which didn't work), I decide to make my wand out of a branch. I go up to the Bottlebrush tree and pick a branch off. It still has leaves on it. A wand! I attempt to cast a spell by waving it in the air. I feel a sense of wonder as a flame erupts from its tip! Fire spell! Woah! I shake it to put out the flame, and my wand turns into a full blown, magical staff. It's gorgeous, looking like a living tree branch, leaves all over it. Now I use my staff to cast another spell! I wave it around and a green flame appears. Cool! Suddenly, the flame turns into a green ball! I go examine the ball and it starts to peel open. Inside is a beautiful pot of blooming flowers!

I consider this a success and move on to the next task. I'm looking around my neighborhood, trying to find a monster that I can use to talk my way out of danger. I see leaves flying around in the distance, and head that way. As I approach, a GIANT transformer comes out of the trees! That will do, I think, although I'm a little nervous! He approaches me, his suit of armor is all black. I try to tell him that I need to use him for my task, and that it's OK for him to put me in danger. I don't know if he heard me. He's talking at me, I can't understand a word he's saying. He looks annoyed. Eventually, he does step on me. He's got his foot on my chest, and it's uncomfortable. I think OK, now talk my way out! First I tell him that he doesn't want to hurt me because I'll work for him. He shifts me to the other foot. My mind is scrambling, I'm trying to think of something but drawing a blank. I tell him I'm a beautiful girl, and he doesn't want to hurt me because of that. I wince as I say it, thinking that's stupid. He kicks me to the side, and stomps off. I think, as I catch my breath, yeah, I think I'll try this task again another time.

Then I dust myself off and stand up. I head back to the house. On the front driveway, I talk to my "Mother" guide for a little while. Then I go back in the house.

I attempt to suck all the color out of the room. I get about 90% of it, but still notice a christmas tree painted on the wall that's not black and white yet. I can't take in any more, and let it all go back out.

Better late than never! I got Advance Task i.

Spoiler for Advance Task i - Craft your own magic wand - Success:

The visuals were dimmer than before. I was upstairs at home during night time, vague lights visible from below. I retained awareness.

Took a moment to really keep presence in the dream. After that, I hurry downstairs. As I do, I think over a list of tasks. Only the magic wand tasks seemed tenable at the moment. And so, I go to the front window, and wrench the curtain rod from its attachment. Oddly, the curtains remain floating in place. Anyway, I observe the metal rod. This one was an older kind we'd replaced years ago, one that had a fake crystal at the end.

I gesture and mutter nonsense at the rod as part of an enchantment spell. Next, I point the wand at the door, expecting something amazing to shoot out. Instead, I only got a bit of smoke. I whipped it repeatedly, and eventually got a trite rainbow display you'd find in a cheap carnival toy. Unsatisfied, I continued further, until finally, sparks began flying out. They initially only trickled out, but eventually they fired and smoked out in a similar manner to the spark cone fireworks, if more subdued. Works for me. Task complete.
