      My worst fear came true...

Well I suppose it's not the worst thing in the world, and may sound ridiculous to people here, but I've been afraid of experiencing sleep paralysis ever since learning about SP/lucid dreams/etc even though I never experienced it before...I tried to forget about it completely, the whole subject of SP and dreaming because SP sounds so horrible and lucid dreaming is connected to it.

I was just getting to where I could sleep without worrying about it, but I just experienced it the first time for about 3 seconds...I heard a deep voice saying something like "you will be unable to move and start hallucinating" and then it was over.

It was after waking up before I needed to so I went back to sleep, and I was sleeping on my side...which is weird because I heard it was common on the back, the way I normally sleep so now I'm confused on how to sleep. I kept telling myself it will never happen, stop worrying and go to sleep, and now it happens. I'll be worried about this forever now

I always sleep on my back, tried sleeping on side for a little while because of what I heard about SP, but then went back to sleeping on back, and now it happens on my side. Is it really more likely to happen on the back? I wish I've never heard about all of this before, because then I'd just pass it off as a dream and stop worrying.

That's one of the main fallbacks of WILD'ing. Look at it from the other side, you just had a new experience.

Seriously, nothing is going to hurt you in SP. There might be frightening experiences, but what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. Harden your flesh. There will be a lot worse things in life than SP.

lol I hope if I ever experience it again it's as mild as it was this time...because if I ever experience the 1 min+ with the old hag now THAT'S what I'm deathly afraid of.

Can anyone tell me if the whole more common while sleeping on back thing...is only because people don't normally sleep on their back, so it happens when they do? I've gotten used to sleeping on my back, and want to continue without fear.

lol I'm watching videos of people who really believe they were abducted by aliens and it's strangely making it sound less scary because it's ridiculous

but seriously I'd rather not experience it

This just sounds like a hypnagogic hallucination. Why do you think you were in SP?

I couldn't move either, until I really tried moving my arm and then I guess that broke it. It was right after rem cycle because I was asleep for 90 min...I really wish I could sleep for a full 8 hours before waking up

I haven't had much experience with auditory HH, but what I have heard is pretty mild, ranging from a soft, wooshing sound to a loud ringing in my ears. I seem very prone to feeling like someone is in the room, it happens very strongly all the time, so if I ever hear voices I'll probably freak out

Ugh I'm thinking about it and getting scared again! I've only had that feeling once, actually maybe twice, there was one other time where I couldn't move for a second or two but no hallucination...I think both times I wasn't in full SP but definitely felt unable to move for a few seconds, and this time thought I heard something...but thinking now the voice was kinda in my head, didn't sound like it was out loud like it could be mistaken for real.

I really don't care about dreaming...I just never want these horror stories I keep hearing about to happen to me. And now I'm afraid to sleep on my back, my side...any position!

I have suffered from sleep paralysis a number of times and usually when i'm sleeping on my back. I think you're gtting incredibly worked up over very little, it can be quite enjoyable. Anyway if it bothers you that much I find for me the trick to breaking out of it is to tense my chest so you could try that next time your in sleep paralysis.

      theres nothing to worry about

SP can be frightening but its all in your head. nothing is really happening.

      your just hallucinating

and it is possible to WILD without SP

just ask shift. shes the master at that
