      Sleeping on your stomach

Is this bad for you? I find it quite relaxing, but apparently it helps break your back!

      Lol thats stupid.

The only difference it makes, as far as i know, is that you often fall asleep faster as it it slighty harder to breath, and your breaths are more shallow. Its not dangerous.

Also i've heard that people use it as a way to help maintain lucidity. If they are sleeping on their stomach (and lungs) they aren't taking very deep breaths. If they get exited in a dream, it can be easier to stay asleep, instead of waking up.

Yeah, that's why I wanted to do it. I wanted to do it to help me do WILD, as I have trouble getting to sleep when planning on waking up at 5:00.

So it's not bad for you to sleep on your stomach (face down on bed)?

It certainly wont break your back haha, and unless your pillows are stacked super high, then it wont bend your back into a weird shape.

      No problems!

PS: I know of some people that can ONLY sleep on their front, because of compulsive disorders or whatever.

The only thing that breaks my back is having more than one pillow. I find sleeping on my stomach much more comfortable though. The only times I sleep on my back are when trying to induce SP/LDs

Of course I don't sleep face down... I suffocate when I do. I usually turn my face to the left haha

I have always slept on my stomach, maybe that is why my back hurts a lot of the time and I am only 15.

Hm, maybe that's why I can't WILD. I always attempt it while laying on my back.

Hmmm same here. In fact the one time I got into serious SP (fully frozen w/hallucinations), I was lying on my stomach. I had a FA w/SP on my back. But if both work, I'd much prefer sleeping on my stomach haha So I'll have to rethink my strategy

I can't not sleep on my stomach. I've tried being on my back but I actually find it too much effort. In fact, most of the time I think I get to sleep on my side, but this makes my limbs go numb. I was concerned about this too, I really hope it isn't too much of a bad habit.

Yeah, come to think of it, how do you put your neck when you sleep on your stomach? I actually find it harder!

I find it hard to sleep on my stomach.. My arms feel strange, and I drool..

I find the sleeeping postitions vital to dreams, and dream recall, etcetera, though..

So if one can, I would sleep any way possible.
I know who I am, as I become...

I always sleep on my stomach, and I've never broken my back. Easy as that, lol.

Same, I never sleep on my back, I always get tempted to move.

I always have to face to me left. Can't do it to the right. In fact it bothered me sleeping with my face against the wall, so I started sleeping the other way in my bed just so that I could face left haha

Yeah same, I have my neck to the left too, I'm just worried I'll wake up with neck pain.

I do every so often, but it's not a huge deal. Goes away after I wake up and get outta bed. The only thing that gave me consistent pain sleeping (besides moving to college and sleeping on a shit bed) was having more than one pillow. As soon as I got rid of the 2nd, the back pain disappeared!

I sleep on my stomach all the time. I fall asleep that way.
Usually roll to the side, do the ol' fetal position and end on the back for morning
I get the odd arm circulation problems sometimes sleeping on the stomach .

      Works for me.
