      Kromoh's sleep schedule

I've just decided to try to adopt a polyphasic sleep schedule. I'm gonna do a lot of testing before picking an exact schedule, but I got a few things in mind.

I decided to take Everyman for not being so extreme, and for providing more flexible naps, since my routine varies on the day. I picked the 3h core + 3x 20min naps because it would bestly fits my daily life.

Feel free to post on this journal!! anything, from jokes to questions, is apreciated!

My Everyman schedule will be (for now, I might change this if I find apropriate):

      -----
      3am-6am: core sleep

      1pm
      5pm : 20min naps
      10pm
      -----

I never tried such a sleep schedule before (although I've already planned to). I will report my adaptation and my experiences, and all that's involved with my sleeping schedule.

      Wish me luck!

      Thanks for the good luck

Yesterday, I woke up late (had no classes), but I did many tiring things during the day. I stayed awake until 3am, and then had my core sleep until now (6am here).

I woke up like a zombie. My eyes were better off closed than anything. It took a long moment in front of the mirror before I could realise the state I was in. It was hard to wake up yeah, but I feel way better now. Instead of feeling sleep deprivated, I feel like I woke up really early.

My next nap will be by 1pm. I'll report back when needed

Man this is gonna be hard, It barely is 7:20 am and I'm feeling as sleepy as if I had woken at 2 in the morning My next nap is only at 1pm, and I really don't wanna mess times up, so it's gonna take self-control not to fall asleep (I really mean it).

I feel better off now. I guess my sleepiness was due to working excessively at such a delicate time. For the ones of you spying on my private life, I was translating this scientific review on ultrasound treatment for patients with rheumatoid arthritis for my sister (she's at college, taking physiotherapy, and cannot speak English). I hope I get compensated for this xD -- Oh c'mon, she could buy me an ice-cream. In fact, the criteria for inclusion of the trials and the assessment of quality in the review are very interesting when you are bored.

My bed is flirting with me for some reason. Note to self: don't laugh too much, it wastes your precious energy. Damn Senseless Banter!

Guess I got used to this semi sleep deprivation. It is particularly strange because, paralelly to feeling sleepy, I do also feel more alert and quick-thinking. I would also say my level of happiness is higher, but my humour has been so strange lately that I wouldn't risk a thesis

      28 sept 2007 - 12:25 pm

I've been feeling that stable alertness I mentioned. If I don't do anything, I start to feel sleepy: good thing I prepared lots of things to prevent boredom. My first nap will be around 1pm, and I'm not sure I'll hate the time management skills necessary for reporting back before it. So I might only post after my first nap. Feelign better now, need less self control to stay up.

I've just had my nap. I was amazed at waking up and finding myself rested, even though i had some trouble with falling sleep. I still feel the disorientation related to waking up early, but I can say I'm not sleepy anymore.

Man this is impressive. It feels like I didn't sleep at all, but I'm fully rested. It's eveb kind of jard to believe

Next nap is at 5pm. I might post less now that things are startign to settle down. Thanks for the great job of preventing my boredom, Dreamviews: it worked

I'm finally feeling well. What I feel now is myself tired, rather than sleep deprivated. Can't wait for my 5pm nap xD

      28 sept 2007 - 5:52 pm

Had my second nap some time ago. I'm feeling like it's midnight: not completely clear, but able to spend some good time awake.

Normal day it is now. Doing many things to pass time. You indeed have a lot of extra time when sleeping in one of these schedules. It just rocks xD

Next nap is at 10pm... not sure mama will allow me to post here though... if not, I'll report on my progress by tomorow

Had my last nap a little time ago. I'm thinking of adaptating the sleep schedule, moving the last two naps one hour forward. I had trouble to faal asleep in this nap. I'll wait though, to see how much I can handle a normal day with the current set: I don't wanna push myself too hard. I believe it will be hard to stay up until 3am though, so wish me good luck.

LOL silly me. I went to sleep at 3am last night, but the alarm didn't succeed in waking me up at 6am! lol I slept until 9 something. And I actually felt more tired than before. I'm after a better alarm

      29 sept 2007 - 9:38pm

I had my 1pm nap normally. It was easier to keep the schedule after oversleeping, but I feel completely drowsy now. I'll soon be taking my 10pm nap, and will continue my polyphasic schedule as if nothing happened.

(Xox, yeah it was annoying, but I'm gonna go on like it didn't happen. It's better that way)

Soon going for my core sleep. I hope a WILD attempt doesn't make me tired. Day was well, although I skipped my 10pm nap (wasn't needed).

I again missed my alarm (LOL I'm a heavy sleeper) but I woke up earier than yesterday (don't remember exactly what time though).

All my naps followed the schedule. I feel completely normal whatsoever.

I went to sleep at 3am and woke up at 6 for school. I didn't feel sleep deprivated at school, but I did just before my first nap. I had it and went to my English classes. Had a test and I believe I did great. Now I'm going for my 2nd nap. I'll probably report back tonight, later on.

My core sleep is here in a bout half an hour. I'm feeling prefectly well: using the extra time to read the books I haven't finished. I noticed I feel sleepy as I get close to my sleeping times, which I believe means my body has adapted to the schedule - at least the theory of it.

I also noticed I'll have to change my eating habits: I feel hungry after dinner. I don't have any ideas yet, though.
