      Voices

For a while when I have just laid down to sleep, I have been hearing voices, but quiet, like they were in a different room. It was clear that they were voices, but I could not make out words. This does not happen if I wake up in the night and go back to sleep. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Do they happen when you are already starting to fall asleep?
If so it sounds like it is Hypnagogia. These are hallucinations that are sometimes experienced when you are on the border line between sleep and wakefulness.
