I recently read that some medication (on a sidekick right now so I can't look it up) but stuff like diazepam supresses the REM stage of sleep after a long time of rem suppression when you get off the medication it leads to REM rebound (a time where rem sleep is extended to make up for lost time), anyone heard of this and can anyone explain its effects more vividly? |

Basically we need REM sleep. If we don't REM you'll get agitated during the day, some people will hallucinate. It is very dangerous if not fatal to go without REM sleep for an extended period. |

Yes I agree but some people take this medication to help with Anxiety and end up feeling like shit the next day because REM Was suppressed, now If we could figure out how and why REM is suppressed couldnt we engineer something to extend REM? Like a Lucid Dreamers Best Friend!? |

You can achieve REM rebound in several ways, such as by taking vitamin B6 or 5-HTP ( but not together! ) which increases serotonin levels, if you take them when you go to sleep. |
