      Raw Food for gastrointestinal issues?

Hey everyone... I've always had digestion issues but now it's just insane lately. I'm being pushed toward a raw food diet as that seems to be the only thing my body doesn't have a negative reaction to.

Anybody have any tips, guidelines, cool stuff to mention, or anything else regarding raw food? I'll even take recommended websites. I used to think the idea of a raw food diet was extreme and unwelcomed it a lot. However, since this seems to be the only thing I can eat now without being in a lot of pain, hell, I'm doing it.

Thanks .. here's hoping for less pain

Without mentioning raw food (I don't know much about it to tell you the truth) I can first give you some tips on how to improve your digestion without changing your diet. First off all don't rush it when you eat, eat slowly and don't drink in between bites. Drink before or after you have eaten or else it can create "air chambers" in your intestines.
Also, remember that if you eat a lot of fibers you need to drink more then usual. This is something that many people forget and they get stomach issues because of it.

If you have a lot of issues then I would advise you to see a doctor about it just to get a diagnosis.

I've been having the same problem for the past 2 years or so. I'm thinking about becoming a vegetarian now.
Dunno about raw food, but cutting meat and possibly dairy out sounds good, even though I love milk.
I just feel better without it.

Skybridge: Thanks for the tips and yeah, I eat pretty slow as it is and I drink plenty of water so those aren't the culprits. I have seen a doctor and he thinks I'm just lactose intolerant, lol. But thanks

Tommo: Yeeeaaaah! Someone else with a similar thing. I actually tried the raw food thing for a short while after I posted this. Didn't work out too well. But I did cut out 95% of dairy and that seemed to help a bunch. A while ago I stopped eating red meat and that helped loads too.

My doctor was saying something about a high percentage of the population not realizing they're lactose intolerant. I thought that was pretty interesting. If you subtract things from your diet, I'd be interested in knowing the results.

I will keep you updated. Guess I can put off raw food for a while then.
I've already started drinking rice milk instead of cow's milk, which is actually nice too. I'll also cut out red meat.
