      Wild is evil

Ive been trying to WILD and WBTB for a long time now. Yesterday i went to bed at 11, set my alarm at 4:30. I woke up for the alarm, got up for like 2 mins, and went back to bed to start the WILD.

I layed down in my bed, and closed my eyes and played dead. Waiting for the vibrations that i usually get.

I noticed that my heart was about to explode. I could hear each beat as if it was hooked up to a amplifier. Anyways, i sat there still. I tried counting..... nothing.
Then i noticed i had to pee. So i got up and went. Then i went back to WILDing.
I spent maybe an hour in bed, lost an hour of sleep, and got no where.

I didnt get to SP, or HI. I just twitched really bad towards the end and i got tired of it and just rolled over and went to sleep.

      Any suggestions?

That always happens when i wake up form my alarm. It startles me. I dont know any other way though. And just laying there doesnt help.

I wont get any sleepier, once my brain wakes up i dont think i can jump back into that SP phase

If you reach the "super powered heart" state, and break it, because it's too intense, or you have to do something, it is almost impossible to get back into it again. You'll have to try again tonight instead.

Its not that i got that a super heart rate state, i STARTED with a super heart rate, therefore couldnt relax enough to get into any stages of sleep.

I dont know why, its not like i woke up, ran a marathon, and went back to sleep.

I also have this problem...that once I wake up I am too awake to sleep again

The only way I can fix it is to go to bed super late in the first place. but this only works if you dont have to get up early the next day...

I usually can't LD (or recall doing so at least) until after 7 hours anyway. Maybe you're setting the alarm too early, making it impossible to do anything but knock yourself back out into a non-rem sleep. Make sure you're getting woken up during a natural REM stage. If you find a good time measurement, and set your alarm, make sure that its based off when you actually went to sleep, not when you got in your bed.

Personally I don't use alarms. I almost always wake up (if only for a brief moment) naturally during each REM cycle, so I can use that time and it works out perfectly. I also usually DILD though.

Have you tried not leaving the bed during your WBTB and just WILD from where you're at? You might just fall right back asleep, but at least you won't be up for an hour getting frustrated.

Wrong. Your heart going crazy, is simply a response to the feelings and sensations, of sleep paralysis. The only thing for you to do, is try to ignore your heart, keep your breath normal, and just focus on counting.
After 2 or 3 times, your body will start recognising the feeling, and it won't go crazy anymore.

On occasions I attempted WILD and suddenly found myself aware in a deep state of Hypnagogia I would usually get aPsychological/Physical Shock reaction. It felt alot like my heart beating out of my chest about to explode. Pounding very hard and fast and feeling very strange, unlike daytime heart pace raising, more with something like a tingling/burning sensation in my Heart. Very strange. Your story reminded me of that.

I'm guessing he was just using a figure of speach to describe his rather scary experience attemtping WILD. Relax man.

anyway, I think what he's saying isn't that his heart started beating hard during the WILD, it's that his alarm clock startled him so completely awake that it scared him and he couldn't get back to sleep.

As I said, getting back into sleep paralysis is difficult, after a failed WILD, and since sleep paralysis is part of the process of sleeping, it's difficult to sleep again.

Oh. I just re-read, guess I misunderstood. Your blood circulation was probably just adjusted to laying down, and as you suddenly flew up, to turn of the alarm, your heart had to adjust to all the changes. That's at least one idea.

It seems to me people are trying way too hard to make a lucid dream happen. I've had tons and tons of "LD's" of all types in my life, but every single one of them was unexpected. It's just a freak thing that happens every once in awhile, and you just have to be patient. Purposely looking forward to one and thinking and thinking about it will only keep you up. Just do your usual sleeping routine and if it happens it happens.

I tried for a whole year, then gave up for a couple months. I think letting a couple months go regularly is enough. But its not, So i tried another year, and now im getting very frustrated.

Hey man, how about that GABA stuff they've been talking about? You can get that at like, GNC, I think.

The exact thing happened to me, moe. I went to the bathroom after my alarm went off at 3 to WILD, got back in bed and breathed deeply for a count of 300, then... nothing, BUT - I flopped on my side and tried to go to bed, then my WILD started, I started being shaken rapidly and it got real hot, I got scared and woke up to ruin my first WILD/LD.

If you have a cellphone try setting the alarm on that and put it to only vibrate, lay it under your pillow, into your body or something like that. Probably wont give you such a shock. Works for me when i try to WILD.

That sort of thing has happened to me a couple times. It feels like some thing is on my back, weighing me down. It always felt like a demonic presence, and to my surprise I wasn't that off. I was reading about Incubus and Succubus demons online once, and one of the phenomenon of the Incubus is that it sits on a sleeping persons back.
