LD: Interrupting a Good Night's Sleep

I have accidentally stumbled upon Lucid Dreaming by practicing it myself. I have been doing it now for a little over a month and have enjoyed it until now. I'm finding myself waking up feeling extremely tired and fatigued and feel this must be due to my conscious mind not getting a solid night's sleep because it is constantly "aware". Now, I am finding myself trying very hard NOT to dream at night because I want to get a good nights sleep. Is anyone else finding themselves with the same problem?

one thing that helps me not dream, (or keeps me from dreaming) is to stay up late enough that being aware is just too much effort.

If you're really tired, to the point of your mind shutting down when your awake. It will shut down when you sleep.
Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

I dream whether I like it or not... remember them, too; though I'll forget them if I don't concentrate on them the first twenty minutes or so after waking.

The past two times I had a lucid dream I noticed I ended up sleeping an extra hour. It could have something to do with the effort of being conscious during a dream; but then two nights isn't a big enough trend for me to be certain...

Is there a way to reject lucidity if you don't want it? Like maybe conjuring up a bed and going to sleep in your dream... 'cause if I have an LD during finals week, and I need the sleep... well.
