As the title may have already i'm starting to get a little desperate and frustrated... I'm not sure how to move forward from this point i'm at. |

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that we are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of living for the roses that are blooming today... Live for today, or we might never live a day in our lives.

i am having problems learning what FILD is. |

True, so i may not be at the end of my rope but what makes DILD so easy for beginners? |

Are you doing anything to become hyper aware while awake? that is very important, as the increased awareness is what you need to realize you are in a dream. |

Add the notion of working hard on dream recall (which I know sivason wholeheartedly promotes in his "LD in 5 sentences" challenge answer), and this deserves to be gilded in platinum and hung in a prominent spot on the site. This, in essence, is it. |

What has been mentioned so far is definitely true, but from things that I experienced and observed, an understanding of yourself and your problems and opportunities regarding the matter helps tremendously. If you feel that you mess up, think about why you mess up or at least think so. Techniques that do wonders for some might do nothing for you, but keep in mind, there's likely gonna be a technique out there which will give you a lot of success, the trick is to find it and apply it correctly. |

Personal Records so far: Max lucids per day: 2 | Max lucids per week: 4 | Max lucids per month: 8 | Max dreams recalled in one night: 17
Longest lucid dream: ~35min | Highest flight: zoomed out of common existence [WTF?] | Fastest speed: FTL | DILD/EILD/DEILD [X] | WILD/VILD [X] | MILD/FILD/HILD [ ]
Interested to know how I got 17 dreams in one single night? And how I think I still could Improve? Check out my new and improved Dream Recall Compendium: The Dream Recall Compendium
Just to add my experience with recall and where I see it fitting in. First off, no LDs yet after about 6 weeks, and that's okay because right now I'm putting my effort into recall and daily awareness. |

Have you tried using external cues to signify you are dreaming? I have used music playing on my bedside CD player, which sometimes can become incorporated into the dream. Then you can take notice of it and reality check with it. For me, if I can still hear it after taking my headphones off, that's a good sign you are dreaming. |
|
Do you frequently question whether you are dreaming? You could be dreaming at any moment. You should always wonder... |

Don't be desperate, instead try to make yourself feel as excited and motivated as possible, so that you actually look forward to having lucid dreams without forcing it. |

I don't have a lot of experience, but one thing I do that really helps me with lucidity is this (and I can't say this enough!): |
