When people say they don't dream what's really happening is they simply can't remember the dreams. As far as I'm aware anyway that's it. I don't believe anybody really has no dreams at all unless they've had some kind of damage to the brain - there is some type of brian injury that makes people unable to enter REM but they become extremely depressed after a while because apparently dreams are necessary to maintain mental health. Though possibly if a person becomes depressed they might dream less or perhaps not at all for a while. Hmmm, come to think of it there well may be other conditions that could cause temporary loss of REM sleep, so I'll revise my original statement. I know, it doesn't help much though does it, since I'm just basically guessing here. |
