Which books should be made into a movie or set of movies?

Post your ideas of books that you like and think they should be made into movies.

Personally I would like to see a film Adaptation of The Dark Tower, by Stephen King. This project has been picked up and dropped by many hollywood studios for a number of years.

A film adaptation of Neuromancer (William Gibson) is apparently in its early stages (google it). There have purportedly been offers made to Mark Wahlberg for the part of Case (hmm...) and to Liam Neeson for the part of Armitage (

). If any of you are wondering what I'm talking about, I highly recommend you go read that book, if you have any inclinations toward science fiction I have no doubt it will impress.

Between that and Peter Jackson's ongoing work on The Hobbit, nothing else comes immediately to mind. What I think of more often is games that should be made in to films. Metal Gear Solid 2 is an obvious choice. The Dynasty Warriors series has got to have about as many titles as Final Fantasy, I feel like it's only a matter of time until someone makes a historical film about that era.

This sort of doesn't count because they're already planning a really shitty version starring kristen stewart but The Forest of Hands and Teeth would make a good film if they found the right director.

I'm less interested in making good books into shitty movies and more interested in taking other material like comics and certain videogames. But they just ruin everything so it's hard to be optimistic. They could make a good Zelda movie but they'd ruin it. I hate hollywood.

The cover changes every few years, but that's one of the really cool ones. I think it's the trippiest prose book ever written. Making it into a movie would be really difficult, but I think it can be done. It would be like a cross between an art film and a documentary.
