      Subconscious working against me?

      A while ago for about a week my girlfriend would appear in pretty much everyone of my dreams. She wasnt always an important character but she was usually there. When i started to notice this i decided to do a reality check everytime i saw her so i would be more likely to notice that i was dreaming when i saw her in a dream. As soon as i started doing this though she stopped appearing in my dreams as if my mind was working against me. Has this happened to anyone else?

      Yes... Actually just happened to me recently. In my dreams one of my school mates would always show up, so I decided that I'd try to use that to my advantage. Unfortunately, like you, I haven't seen one since.

      Maybe it's because previously you had been focussing on the recurrence of your girlfriend in the dream, and as a consequence she recurred. When you put more focus into doing a reality check, the back of your mind was replaced with this new plan.

      Well dream signs change with time. 1 month ago in almost every dream I had there was reference to water. Now only once in a while in a while I see any reference to it at all. I think you are just having some bad luck .
