Synchronicity? I realize most of these threads don't get anywhere but... what the hey :P

Background info:

1. I play a game online that lets you take surveys or perform certain tasks (like signing up for partner sites) in exchange for game currency that would otherwise be impossible to get unless you paid real money.

2. There's a DC named Catie that appears in my dreams frequently; most of our encounters lead to epiphanies/revelations when I wake up so I consider her to be my dream guide.

Interesting part:

I was recently doing one of those offers that required me to sign up to a site (which happened to be an online dating service [I had no intention of using their services but if I'm getting money for it, even if it's virtual, I may as well sign up right?]) but when I entered my email address, it said that it was already in use. I figured I had signed up for this site a while back and, for curiosity's sake, I decided to sign in to the account (dont deny it, you would probably do the same... maybe).

I had a quite a few "matches" that had been piling up over the months and a couple of them had tried to make contact by sending me a message. One of these messages was from someone named Katie. For the hell of it, I checked out her profile and she had her Facebook contact info on it. I had FB open in another tab and since this was the most interesting part of my day (hey, I dont have a job and I dont start college for another while so hush

) I went and searched her up. Believe me or not, this girl looked eerily similar to my "dream guide." Not exactly the same but similar enough for it to be weird.

My question:

Should I try sending her a message on Facebook or something? She's cute and she seems pretty cool plus she seemed kinda interested. Pathetic as it sounds, I'm considering it but I dont wanna reply to a message she sent a couple months ago, have her totally blank, and come off looking like some schnook.

I know this is probably just a coincidence and it's likely I'm simply convincing myself that she looks like my DG - cute brunettes are a dime a dozen after all - but idk, as skeptical as I am about the entire concept of synchronicity and other dream phenomena, this is kinda odd. Isn't it?

Dude, don't let this opportunity pass you by, this is the very definition of dream synchronicity, talk to her, and get to know her, but don't abandon all cation just because of the circumstances.

That's my advice.

oh and one last thing, please don't type in all green, it's hard on the eyes.

This is the only forum I've been on that really minds the color. All it takes is a click and drag of the mouse to highlight if it's hard on your eyes. :[ Kinda apprehensive about contacting her but I guess I may as well, I don't really have much to lose.

As for synchronicity in general, do you guys really beleive in it?

I believe synchronicity is a two-way street. I firmly stand behind synchronous events, but you also have to take into consideration that it very well could just be manipulation of the mind. When you're constantly looking for symbols or correlations (whether subconsciously or consciously) you're bound to have a few match up next to each other. I liken it to the people that claim Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is meant to be played alongside The Wizard of Oz. Out of the two hour film maaaaybe 4-5 solid synchronous events happen, but because people were looking for them.

That being said, when something HUGE and life affirming happens synchronously, it can't be ignored. I liken them to Deja Vu events.... they're little guideposts or checkpoints to let you know that you ARE on the right path. Whether or not it's true... it's just nice to have a little positive reinforcement.

I wasn't sure whether to start my own thread or not... I figured I'll let this one live a little longer. I had a "synchronicity" that I'm quite sure was coincidence, but it was kinda funny, anyways. speaking of synchronicity, theres an app call the synchro project on the iphone and itouch where you report synchronicities. I just discovered it this morning and then i read this post bout synchronicity. kinda strange

the best synchros are when they are shared with people. i once heard a flying lotus tune that i had heard somewhere before, but annoyingly couldnt figure out where. that night i went down to meet an old mate and i put a mix on to listen to on the way down that him and his mates had made. it turned out the tune was on that mix which was a nice enough little synchro on its own. i told him about this when we met up. then we went to a bar and sat down. the first thing i saw was a flying lotus flyer on the table in front of us
