Einstein said space is curved. I always wondered, if one travels in a straight line on the surface of the Earth (or any sphere), one would end up back at the same point due to its curvature, however, due to the size of the Earth, this curvature may not be apparent to the traveler. By conjecture, if one travels by space ship in any direction into space and only goes in a straight line, will they end up back at the same point due to the curvature of space? |
