Thread: Have you ever been chased by a dog?

So i was walking home (as you do) And was about to head up this dark alley to reach my house, as i was about half way i heard a wierd noise and turned around, and to my horror there was a horrible looking big dog, i turned around and started to walk away quite fast, then i turned and saw the dog give chase, fearing it might be rabid i legged it, i could actually hear the dog panting and it was so close to bitting my ankle, this dog wanted to bite me, i was thinking whether i should turn around suddenely and kick it around the face, i chickened out and just ran to my house, there are about 30 steps up to my front door so i ran up 3 steps at a time, my hands where shaky becuase of the adreneline and i was finding it ver hard to get the dam key in the door. Seriously as soon as i slammed the door behind me the dog was right there, if i was a couple of seconds slower it would have bittten me, it was looking through the cat flap so i locked it. It headed off down the stairs and had a crap at the bottom stair!!! WTF

Never ever run AWAY from a dog. It's the stupidest thing you can do because it WILL chase you. If anything, run AT it.

At least you got away safely. I've never been chased by one, but one knocked me over when I was 6. I have no fuckin clue why, but my friend's (big) golden lab just randomly decided to charge at me and jump. It's not like I had anything tasty in my pockets. From then on, I hated that thing. I was a little bit glad when he died. After that happened, my dad asked if I knew that you're supposed to turn sideways so they can't take you down.


Run at it? Never thought of that. Makes sense, though. When you're on a motorcycle, you're supposed to slow down when you see an approaching dog. When it gets closer to you, speed off. That's what the booklet said, anyway. Thankfully I've never had that problem.

I have no choice to go up the alley because it's the only way to get to my house, and because it's winter it gets dark early so it's all dark D:

Because the entrance to the alley has a streetlamp by it, which shines orangey, about half way up it gets darker and darker untill you get near the exit, most of it has trees and bushes around it.
