Are you ugly?

If you're reading this then yes, you are physically unattractive. Vain beautiful people wouldn't be caught dead reading a thread like this. This thread just serves to validate your thoughts.

1. When you hear people laughing around you (no matter how far away they are) 9/10 chance it's about you.

2. When you hear people whispering around you (no matter how far they are) 10/10 chance it's about you

3. When you see people crying around you (no matter how far they are) 5/10 chance it's because they accidentally looked at your face to fast.

4. When you see someone smiling that passes you, 10/10 chance they just thought of a mean joke involving you.

5. If you see someone that looks at you then darts their eyes away, 7/10 chance that their eyes began hurting and thus had to look at something else.

6. If you see someone staring at you 9/10 chance that means they are doing so because they are wanting to commit suicide and know the fastest way to death is by looking at you.

So if you've ever heard and/or seen people laughing around you, whispering around you, crying around you, smiling at you or darting their eyes from you...it means you suffer from a sever case of uglitis. We're very sorry but there is no cure.

I disagree, 2, 3 and 6 are foolish, but all the other things are quite true. Quite often assholes and bitches will laugh at ugly people for being ugly.

Jerks will whisper about you, and

People who are generally nice but still find you repulsive will look at you and then dart their eyes because they find you repulsive. In fact sometimes they will just stare at you for the mere fact that you are ugly, and if it weren't for him saying it was to commit suicide, number 6 would be not be foolish to think.

If you think otherwise you have only put yourself into a deluded world where people aren't shallow and horrible. Even nice people are shallow, but they aren't mean, so they don't say anything.

Well the thing is, people do all that stuff regardless of who's around anyway. It may be about you, but if there is a crowd, it could be about anyone or no one. You just can't ever really tell. If you're insecure, you will tend to pay attention to these things more closely.

I was with my friends hanging out a couple of years ago and we were laughing while inadvertently looking at this blonde girl we thought was pretty cute. I walked up to her with a big grin on my face and said "What's your name?" She told me "fuck you" and walked off. My friends roared with laughter while I scarmbled around the floor looking for my ego. I thought to myself...wow...did she think I was unattractive or was she just a bitch? 6 - 7 months after that I saw her at a camp and it turns out we had a mutual friend. She introduced us and we starting hanging out and dating. I reminded her about that day she told me "fuck you" and asked what was up with that. She said she thought I and my friends were laughing/making fun of her and that I walked over to her to make fun of her or do some joke or something. I made it known to her that that wasn't my intentions at all. In fact, I let her know that I and my friends thought she was cute and we were deciding who should go up and talk to her. After she heard that she bawled and embraced me warmly. That dialog let me know that perception is everything and that often times we are so self-centered that we think the world is revolving around us in the sense that we are what people are laughing at, joking about, crying about or frustrated about. So where does insecurity stem from? In my unprofessional opinion, it's rooted in how we view the world and everything in it. We look at ourselves and measure ourselves up to hollywood, starlets and other sex/beauty icons society tells us are perfect. If we measure up to them in the looks department and we don't like what we see...there's a trickle down effect that affects our self-esteem, confidence etc. Then we project our views about ourself to others and the world around us. If one feels like s/he is less than another person, their head will be down in that persons presence and interactions will be minimal and perhaps some stumbling/stuttering may occur. How do you circumvent your insecurities? You don't. You address them, bring them to the table and realize how illogical they really are.

You're perfect and unique in your own way. Project that to the world instead.

Who says it's a lie? If perceptions exist in the brain and everyone's perceptions are different that makes you the law maker and ultimately that makes YOU the one saying it's a lie. My grandfather always harps "It takes time to kill a fly". What he means by that is that things DO take time. The length of time it takes a person to shelve beliefs that they are worthless to they are awesome takes time.

But if worth is measured by others, and not by one's self, then one's own opinion would be pointless in the equation. To change your own perception is to merely lie, as I stated, an ignorant person pretending to be smart has no more fooled others than a worthless person pretending to have value.

Only if you are a self centered person would you think your opinion of yourself is more important than societies opinion of you.

I was picked on a lot when I was little because of my skin tone and hair color. I was an odd ball compared to the other kids. During those years, they would pick on me, call me names, hurt me, etc. Just because of the fact that I cannot tan, and my hair is blond/red. I was extremely insecure, and it got to the point where, when they stopped hurting me, I was bullying on myself. It was because of all those words were drilled in my head till the point where I took it seriously, and began picking on myself. I was extremely depressed, and thought about suicidal.

When high school came around and things started calming down, people told me a lot of positive things. "I like your hair, you look cute, etc." I told them thankz, but I couldn't accept it. I would tell myself, they're lying to me. It took me about another year or so to realize that I am beautiful because I am unique, and that I am human. No one can have the "perfect beauty" unless they have their mind polluted with all the media junk.

For those who bully others or joke around just remember,

Be careful of what you say, it could cost a life.

That reminds me of something that happened to me when I was 18. There was this real asshole in Northeast Jackson. He used to pick fights all the time, act like a macho prick to everybody he met, and beat his girlfriends. He was one of those guys that nobody really liked but who had social power and a big name any way. I will call him Bill Smith for purposes of this post. I met a superhot girl in Destin, Florida in 1990, and she told me she was Bill Smith's girlfriend. I thought it was such a shame that she went out with that jackass, and I thought that she was out of his league, so I said, "You go out with Bill Smith?" and acted puzzled about it. A few months later, I saw her at a bar, and she said, "You were an asshole to me in Florida," and I asked her what on Earth she was talking about. She said, "You were like, oh YOU go out with Bill Smith?" I was complementing her and insulting him, but she assumed I was complementing him and insulting her.

I know people talk shit about me (mostly for being smarter than they are, for not being ashamed of liking women, or for refusing to look and act like everybody else), but I really couldn't care less. I think people need to realize that this stuff doesn't even matter in the long run. I stopped caring in high school because I knew I'd never see those people ever again. Now in college, I figured people would be just a little bit less retarded, but I guess not. Thankfully there's a ton of gay kids around to back us up.

I love just shutting people up with just one look. Once they realize I know they're talking about me, they become dead silent. It's amazing how freaked out people get when you look them dead in the eye. :shock:
