Thread: Anyone seen snow yet? (USA)

A friend of mine is from Jamaica and she never saw snow until she was 17 and I was with her and some other friends and we were just stunned at the way she was describing her first snowfall.
Especially seeing as how she's a (very good)writer so her imagery was like woah.

That's usually because no one has snow tires or all season tires on their cars
there. There is no way you can drive on snowy or icy roads without them.

My cousin met a woman in Saint Lucia near Jamaica and he married her and
brought her and her two sons to Canada. Her sons were 12 and 15. They
moved to Ottawa. They hate the snow and the cold! lol In the summer
when we think it's hot, they think it's still cold! lmao and wear sweaters!!
They love living here and wouldn't want to go back to st lucia but they just
cant get used to the winter! They have a daughter now as well but Tamika
is 100% Canadian and loves snow.

I know that feeling... Hoth isn't very far from where i live actually. 2-3 hour car drive perhaps. In the winter i often go to the alpine centers and ski alot.

Anyways... first snowfall was about a week ago here. Came about 2 cm which lasted through the day. Melted away the day after though.

i got snow like 3-5 weeks ago and then again last week. bummer.. today it was like 60 degrees out. t-shirt and shorts weather

I live in Oregon and went to college in Montana. Those years in Montana cured me of a desire for snow, at least for a while. Last year it stuck around quite a bit (they had to shut a mountain pass down for a day or so in freaking July!), but normally it's not bad. I can wait another month or so for snow to come.

If there's snow in Portland, though, everyone admires it for a short time before realizing that they don't know how to drive in it. I'm sure you could find some good footage from last year of cars being unable to make it up hills. (I love Portland. That just made me giggle.)

i have a good friend at MSU he went skiing last weekend! im jealous!
i was not ready for snow quite this early in that i dont have my snow tires yet!! (thursday!) i took drivers ed in the winter and learned how to drive in roughest conditions so its never bad for me.

It snowed yesterday! But it all melted.

pouring rain today in southern ontario.....no snow yet! YEAH!!

I'm going to New Hampshire tomorow, I bet I'll see some snow up there!

Snowed all day yesterday and there's plenty of it now! Had to also scrape
ice off my buses windshield today! That's a drag! A lot of times you don't
have to. I remember a few years back i didn't have to scrape ice off 'once'
all winter! The windows were clear under the snow. But not today, our
first snow day. Everyone was scraping the damned ice off! Anyone who
loves snow is nuts! I can deal with a lot when it comes to snow, but
scraping ice off is such a freaking pain in the *** and pisses me off!!!

Hope it all melts again!! It wont this week though, since its supposed to
snow all week.....that could change also too though, so here's to hoping!!

I saw a little fall in New Hampshire yesterday, but there wasn't much falling. Still, it was cool.

Don't get me wrong; we have to scrape ice off too. But I can imagine you scraping off thick sheets, so I can see why you're mad.

Ditto. It was pretty brutal over here in Mississauga, Ontario (REPRESENT!), especially when you live on the outer corner of a crescent. I have one of the biggest, if not the biggest, driveways.

Anywhoot, I had to scrape ice of my car today, and I saw some snow once I got to school.

We've had an Indian summer here in Pennsylvania, it was in the 50's and 60's last week. We just had our first light coating of snow today however.

We've gotten swon in the air just recently, but nothing that stayed frozen when it hit the ground. There was a frost a cople of weeks ago that made a thin layer of frozen condensation over everything. Missouri weather is weird.
