Thread: The Least Logical

you're in the middle of a square room sitting on a chair, by a table. on the table there is a nice apple. on the wall in front of you there is a sign, it says:

EAT THE APPLE

if you were to perform the least logical action possible, what would you do, and why is it the least logical?

despite what you may believe, this is NOT a conundrum!

To not eat the apple.

or,

To use the sign as a somebra hat and dance on the apple (not the table), while throwing the table away, which ultimately results in you hitting the floor, however thereupon talking to the chair as if it was your grandmother.

i like apples.

not eating the apple is logical if you're going to do something that isn't logical...

Whether or not I ate the apple would depend upon a myriad of other circumstances. Therefore, simply eating the apple because the sign says so would be the least logical choice for me. It would mean surrendering any free will I may have in the situation! If I DID eat the apple, it would not have anything to do with the sign.

what made me think of this was one of the free will thread.... is it possible to do something that isn't related to the circumstances at all?

There's no set of rules to apply here as to what would be the most logical or least logical thing to do, its relative, so its not much of a riddle or whatever.

I thought there was an answer... I'd kill myself if I couldn't get out...

Besides, the sign would have no purpose if you ate the apple. Thus it is logical to leave the apple so that the sign may have meaning. The least logical would be to throw the apple againt the sign and smash the place with the chair.
