Thread: In memory of that horrible day...

What made 9/11 worse than most other disasters (like the tsunami, the earthquakes and hurricanes) is that HUMANS did it. Nature, not being a concious being cannot be responsible for it's actions; but people can.
The total disregard for humans life throughout history has always shocked me and saddened me, but I promise that I will do my best to pick up the pieces after each disaster and give humanity another chanche.

This thread is for all those who wish to say something - anything to in memory of those whose lives were ended abrubtly on september the 11th, and of course to those brave men who risked and sacrificed their own lives to save others.

I really don't want to see any riligious zealots fight atheïsts in this thread, or see any muslim bashing. That would only dishonor the dead.

Mankind is still a relatively juvenile race, so I guess it's normal that we still make lots of mistakes. Let's hope that in time this will change. It will require hard work though.

Humans are the worse things to ever happen to this planet. In fact, the worst thing to ever happen to humans was a high level of intelligence.

Humans are not the worst thing to happen to this planet. Honestly we haven't fucked it up that much, but we keep trying. The problem is not a high level of intelligence, but ignorance. Lets take time to think about the futility of vengence. That is the one thing we can all do to help bring about peace.

I think that those who disagree with this statement assume we believe that humanity is all bad. Humanity is far from completely malicious but you have to admit that attaining higher-order thinking skills has lead to the best and the worst things that have ever happened on Earth.
