Technically it can't be proven, over the internet or in person, that any facet of consciousness does or doesn't exist. For example, if I tried to prove to you that I can see, I might devise an experiment involving written text or flash cards. But you can always say I had a series of lucky guesses or special insight. This, of course, all leads back to the issue of qualia and the Chinese Room.
