Just honest here, but I'd be more keen to subscribe if I knew you as person, from the forums. No disrespect, just pure honesty (fair?)

I genuinely wish I had more time to get involved, but I also run a forum and chat community over on thelucidguide website, along with the channel and all the comments that generates (and I try to reply to them all). So you can imagine a huge amount of my day is spent talking online about lucid dreaming.

But, I still very much consider Dreamviews as my "spiritual home" as far as lucid dream forums go (well that and the original Lucidity Institute forum, RIP), so I'll do my best to come and chat when life is kind enough to give me some free time

And I appreciate the honesty, that's what this subject is all about! My response is a "I really wish there were more hours in the day, and I do miss taking part here".

I must say, I'm really glad to see the forum here picking up in activity again!

Wow. It's nice to see you posted. I didn't expect that. I understand you're busy, and I don't judge that. I simply would feel more motivated to check out your stuff if I knew you as a member here, and you checked out our stuff sometimes. You know what I mean? . Good luck.

I've been an active member on the forum since the start (this account replaced another back in 2014, so as to not confuse people with a unrecognisable username), so I definitely don't think that sharing the things that I'm up-to elsewhere (attempting to promote a rational view of lucid dreaming) is spam - but I can see how it's worth keeping an eye on such things. This is partly why the mods have given my posts a green flair so they are a little more visible, as we're all working together to try to bring lucid dreaming to a wider audience, and battle a lot of the misinformation that is so prolific out there.

For a while, DreamViews was the official forum for my site, and we had our own section. Although it felt more natural to create a separate space for those who wanted to follow my work more closely, as it didn't jam-up Dreamviews too much or seem unbalanced.

I do know what you mean, I'm surprised our paths haven't crossed here before, as "back in the day", I was here often. Although as we both know, DreamViews became a bit of a desert for a few years as the horrendous Reddit page soaked up most of those new to the subject, and during that time there was little reason to visit, and now things are improving here, I have less time! (typical!)

Haha! See you more often on here makes me want to do a reality check!

Yeah, I assumed that you knew that he was more than just a twiddle person on Youtube. Sorry.

Actually, I do remember you from back in the day. I donated to your book project a long time ago. Thing is, it does seem like most of your posts these days (if not all) include a link to subscribe to your channel. As if that's the goal, to get us to subscribe. On my end, it feels like we're a resource of potential subscribers for you to tap, not actual people to get to know. I hope this makes sense.

It's the scam artists and those who seem to give out false information despite evidence of the contrary. They promise people to get people lucid in one day and things like that. There is never "one shoe that fits all" when it comes to lucid dreaming. As we know here, Lucid dreaming most often comes with experience, hard work and no quick fix.
To be honest, from my own experience, I know what works and doesn't work for me but, it will most likely not work for you.

Sorry if this is being a bit off-topic on the thread; just wanted to say that I understand how you feel, especially when it feels like a certain place (like DV) feels like homely roots. And it's the reason that as an artist I also end up not being interested in some other artists and their sometimes (very!) good work; many are just trying to get a result of some kind, which is a very fair thing, but I tend to be more interested in a personal connection and their own personal work than anything else and likewise that's what I try to do for other people when I can, show my own interest if they are showing interest of their own. Of course someone has to step forward first, sometimes it's me, sometimes it's another person.

That said, I also recognise that for a content creator, it can be very difficult to manage your time and your focus if you've got a lot going on. I have seen some of Daniel's video content before, though I am not hugely familiar with his content overall, most of that is because video content in general mostly passes me by, as it's something I find too passive usually (nobody's fault, just my own way of being) but in any case I did think that the content that I have watched in the past was decent and felt like he does care genuinely about what he's doing.

So to me, based on my little experience, this thread post didn't really feel like spam to me, more like an update on what he's been up to as a creator. I don't think that's a bad thing, even if he is sort of cross-linking to somewhere else. Although I myself am not familiar with the history of Dreamviews, it seems to me Reddit's own failing as a whole is that it seems that it wants you to spend as much time as possible on it these days, very much like Facebook and other major websites, rather than encouraging you to explore the rest of the virtual world.

I'll stop here. That got long kind of fast.
