Hello everyone, i have a question.

what is with the supernatural stuff going around this forum? how is a shared dream possible? why do people not understand that for your subconscious to able to think you would require a second brain? Why do people treat npc's (or as some people like to call them dc's) as real people? How could you possibly manipulate your perception of time in a dream, and if so why cant you do that in real life? why do people believe in obe's i mean how is that possible?

Now out of rant mode, why do people believe in this stuff and criticize people who think lucid dreaming is dangerous?
I mean this is just absurd!

Shared dreaming, OBE, AP and other beyond dreaming stuff belongs to a place of the forum called "beyond dreaming" for a reason, if someone feels like believing it nobody should be an ass about it unless they try to shove their beliefs down someones else throat.

And lucid dreaming has already been proven to be true, regardless of how much you may want to rant. By several scientists even. The most famous one would be the study done by Laberge and his morse-code with eye-signals.

Also lol a second brain? That sounds even more ridiculous than what you are trying to be critic about, considering these NPCs as you call them exist regardless of lucidity and would require several brains according to that logic. Worse yet, people with multiple personality disorder would have at least 2 brains! Not to be an ass, but it just sounds that ridiculous to me.

Totally absurd. Not sure what the hell we all doing here.

Dear hukif, i am not saying lucid dreaming doesn't exist. im saying all that is bullshit, and no they would only require several brains according to YOUR logic as what im saying is they are just constructs made from the mind.

What do you think a personality disorder does? Other than create several unconcious minds, and the term is unconcious between.
Actually, most people here would agree that they are constructs of the mind; the mind just so happens to be capable of emulating stuff like thoughts, which according to the part quoted = having a second brain.

Dear hukif, yes i agree they are constructs, i'm talking about people who believe in "dream guides" and actually think they can know things outside of the dream and think. also its not so much emulating but instead completely based upon your thoughts. for example if your creeped out by ducks and one appears it might try to kill you. if you love ducks you might have a snugglefest.

Dear Mesmerate, do you have anything else to support your own claims other than your own fabulous mind? If so, please state the research. If not, please research before you make any sort of claims? Or even better, experience :)

So why exactly is something being based upon not an emulation? There are DCs that act differently from how one would want/make them to be and yet that is nothing supernatural or strange at all. The point with the MPD still stands since thats the unconcious part of the person taking charge as if it was another self, ofc it is not a separate one but I guess you get the point.

Also waiting on the what all you are referring to and all that. A DG can know things outside of the dream, but not outside of the realm of knowledge of the dreamer? I think we might be having problems with definitions rather than opinions. Other than willfully insulting others for having their own beliefs.

Is there any reason why you feel like insulting others based on their beliefs (Which IMO are harmless in most cases)? If you feel strong enough, you can make a post about it on beyond dreaming and see if anyone feels like talking to you, but right now you are looking a lot like a fundamentalist and that generally ends with saying stupid shit.

Dear sir, yes i agree it might be a problem with your/my clarity. also your still assuming they are special objects, for example a ball in a dream might do something the dreamer doesn't like. you see they are objects just like everything else that emit data, but that is as far as it goes.

As for the insulting i clearly stated in my first post that if you feel insulted you should unrustle your jimmies and learn how to take an insult. also i didint insult anyone i just said they are acting absurd.

A claim for something to be in a way or another, as in true of false, is still a claim. SO basically you have absolutely nothing but your own fabulous mind, so then you felt like dodging my point??
For example: the earth is flat. and then someone else comes in and sais, no the earth is round BECAUSE this and this and this are facts :o

I'm pretty sure you know some people take offense on being called absurd/bullshit depending on how strongly they feel about their beliefs; mostly when your whole reason to join a forum is to tell them that lol

How do I put it? If you want to tell them how absurd they are, then do a quick google search about the stuff you just brought up and explain why it doesn't works otherwise you seem like a fundamentalist who just makes claims but does not back them up.
For example, altering ones own perception of time in waking life is a well known phenomena and so that makes your post look bad for someone who is informed in that area.
Shared dreaming might be possible in the future through new technology (Wouldn't that be awesome?) and if the person you feel like telling are being absurb is reffering to such an event of shared dreaming, then you won't do more than shame yourself and so on. This is why you need to either be more specific or make a proper first post that links to papers about our current knowledge of how the human mind works and dreams in general.

Another good example is the LD being dangerous, anything can be dangerous in the wrong hands so not sure if you meant for someone with a mental disease, in general or just dangerous as is. See why I ask for you to clarify your points?

my honest advice to you is to get used to the: forum functions, terminology, lore and studies on those aspects of dreaming you have mentioned. its always helpful to know. There are very very good informed opinions on this forum :)
Now let me tell you a cute story about my brother. I was in the kitchen, reading this book on Dreaming Yoga practices, as my brother, which I just so happen to consider a closed person, walked in , and asked me what I was doing. I was a bit shocked, since he never really cared. I told him I am reading a book, and then he asked me what it is about, and I started giving him some quotes from it. My brother has not even accepted lucid dreaming as a possibility. He got angry red, since the quotes were from Freud, and just stormed out of the kitchen, only managing to say "but this is wrong" . 15 minutes later, he walks in , and then blurs something about everything being wrong because he just thought it to be wrong in those 15 minutes , and more so, terribly unhealthy! and then closed the door shut before I got to answer him, just so his opinion was the last one valid stated. I laughed so much at that reaction :)
