I am angry beacse hotmail has wiped out all of my emails going back form 2 years on some of them. Also, i had many passowrds, and recites in there.They siad it was beacse i have not activated my account in the mast 30 days. That enraged me beacse I have been for, the last 3 month checking my emial at the very least 4 times a day. incling this morning. Why do things like this happen? Sometimes it just pisses me off when stupid shit hapens for no reaosn. There have meen worse things, much worse, that have hapend this this.. so i feel bad complaing. who cares I still am

Google's 'new' mail service is exclent. Less spam and it won`t poof if you fail to log on for a set period of time.

I just use gmail. It does the job, and I barely have to use e-mail anyway. Couldn't care if it got delivered by carrier pidegion or was read by 30 people on the way. Probably is.

Do you have all the wurms you wan`t too. Depending on how well you know your shit, a mail server can be very risky..

I am not quite sure if your post is laced with a bit of a sardonic undertone, or if you are agreeing with me. I was an assistant network administrator for my old school. I did all the grunt work and what not setting things up. Network+ and MCSE certified. I currently do all the computer related work, involving networking at my current job when crane dispatch starts slowing around the 4 am Mark.

Any moron can create a mail server. Not everyone can protect it well.

I'm also a Semester 2 Cisco CCNA, an IT Technitian, and the former System Admin and founder of Trash the System free hosting, which ran about 200 users on windows servers.

Windows servers were a liability, but home mail servers attract very little attention as long as basic authentication is used...
