That's just kay.
U N F O U N D
Players will be sent a weekly update (may be more or less regular depending on response time by players) with character status, time, map, inventory, the character's chapter and a flashback.
After receiving and reading the update, players may then respond back via pm with their actions, detailing what they want their character to try and do next. As with Anti-Heroes, you cannot invent new things or write prosaically, simply say "I want my character to walk along the beach towards the East" and the character will attempt to do so.
CHARACTER STATUS
Character status will change depending on what happens to your character, and will affect the character's capability to function as normal. You may find your character is in more states than one at times.
- HEALTHY - The character is healthy and uninjured, with no affect on the character's capability to function.
- MINOR INJURY - The character has sustained a minor injury of some kind, which will have a middling affect on the character's capability to function as normal.
- MAJOR INJURY - The character has sustained a major injury of some kind, which will have a severe affect on the character's capability to function as normal.
- DEAD - The character is dead. Functioning as normal generally stops here.
- HUNGRY - The character is in an area in which there is no food source. You do not need to specify eating habits in your actions, I will automatically assume you are eating well if you are near fruit trees/fishing shore/deer grounds, this state only comes into effect if you are, for example, locked in a room without food for extended periods. Has a minor affect on capability to function as normal, remaining in this state for extended periods will result in death.
- THIRSTY - As with hunger. I will assume you carry bottled water around and refill it when possible. This will only come into effect should you be trapped in a place without fresh water.
- FATIGUED - If you do not specify that you sleep during the night phases (or any other time), your character will become fatigued, which has a minor affect on the character's capability to function as normal. Remaining fatigued will exacerbate the effects and eventually result in the character collapsing.
TIME PHASES
Each update will move on a phase in time. If your character is involved in more immediate action that would occurr faster than the time phases, I will deal with that until you are up to speed with the other characters. All characters should be on the same time and day.
- DAWN
- MIDDAY
- DUSK
- NIGHT
- MIDNIGHT
If you do not want to become fatigued, I would advise you to specify where you sleep in your actions for the NIGHT phase (so once it would be in response to the DUSK update). You're NIGHT update will simply report that you sleep through, unless you are woken for whatever reason.
The length of time your character is asleep will be judged by myself, based on character's discipline and exhaustion.
Obviously you may decide you want to be active at NIGHT in which case you would specify where you sleep for another phase instead. So long as you sleep at least once a day you will not become fatigued.
MAP
A map of the Island, showing everything the character is aware of. The map will uncover itself the more you explore, and should help you find your way around the Island.
INVENTORY
Will summarise whatever your character has in their inventory. You may be told you cannot carry more, in which case you may have to lose items from your inventory, perhaps by storing them somewhere safe on the Island.
CHAPTER
Events that have happened involving the character, you will not be informed of anything the character would not know about, ie, what another character the other side of the Island is doing.
You will be responding to the events here in your actions, which you send in a pm to myself in response to the update in question.
FLASHBACK
Events that have happened in your character's past. You cannot change these or decide what you did in your actions. They may be helpful or they may be shaming, or they may be entirely misleading.
And that is essentially that. Which is saying something.
If you want to discuss the game with each other, I won't/can't stop you. Simply be aware that not everything you are told will necessarily be true, but also that teamwork will give you an advantage over players that don't confer.
Helping one another complete the map may be of interest, or it may not. Knowledge is power, especially if you don't consider the players as a 'team'.
