It's easier to kill you off now you've divided like this.

In a way, it's an interesting allegory for life, and indeed faith and reason. Those headed for the Tower - for which we have nothing but spoken word evidence for - are very much those that believe, it could almost be described as a metaphor for belief in God. After all, the Tower is something we have no proof for, but which sounds far better than the thing we have actual proof for, the Smoke.
That people ego inland, into a forest, putting themselves in danger, over something they have no empirical proof for, is one of those interesting facets of humanity that I think we've really brought out in this allegorical context.

Mmmm. I would probably agree on both points.

PM-system chapters make it far more realistic in that you can't cheat and spy on other players. You can still ask them what they're doing, but they can lie. That's where it works very well.

It fails in that, yes, people outside can't see what's going on and because it means a lot more work for me.

If it helps, I will probably put up all the chapters and after the first season, which will probably be maybe 12 chapters.

If you want to play, put up a character profile. I'd rather introduce new characters in bigger batches than one by one.

Arr you saying that if we split up too much you'll kill us off? I'm scared :p
