If you take ecstasy often (more than once every other week), you risk doing neurotoxic damage to your brain due to denigration of serotonin receptors. Basically this means that you could do permanent damage your brain's ability to process serotonin making you depressed for a very long time. Also, ecstasy is a mind altering substance, so you need to be properly aware of the risks of taking such a drug. That said...I had my first ever lucid dream about a week after taking ecstasy for the first time. I would not make a direct connection with taking ecstasy and my sudden ability to lucid dream, but I cannot deny that it is an odd coincidence. However if ecstasy did spur this ability, then it goes to show you all the more what a mind altering substance it can be. So, be cautious, and keep in mind that your friends probably aren't aware of the most responsible way to use drugs so never assume that what they are doing is safe. Do your own research.
Regarding your original question, I really don't know, because I always found it rather difficult to sleep for a few days or just had really weird dreams after using ecstasy. It's likely your brain will be all out of whack for several days.
