Lightbulb possible new technique for achieving lucidity

-This is pretty long, but I promise you won't regret reading it

Ok first of all don't try to stop me, minds set on doing this. Anyways im planning on staying up all night then go to sleep at like 5 or 6 am. The plan is to keep awareness while laying down after staying up the night(which should be easy because im going to exercise or do some math problem to get my mind a little awake).

Im sure this is going to work, at least for me because, i've found that i had more success with LD when my body is really tired. i know one of the risks is obviously sleep deprivation and i've concluded that this technique isnt something i'll perform day by day. if i am successful, i'll only do this once or twice a month (which is way more frequent than the amount of lucid dreams i get now [one every other month]). Another risk can probably be that it will affect your normal sleep cycle. I don't think thats a problem because you can always re-adjust. A problem that some of you might also find is that when you try it your body will go to deep sleep 1st and not REM cycle. i think it doesn't matter though because having lucids during deep sleep phase isnt impossible and it might even be very likely under these circumstances.

It'll be nice if some other people here on this site can try this test TONIGHT if your not doing anything tomorrow. A few trials would make the results more accurate, especially because i cant deprive myself of sleep 2 nights in a row. If you're willing to help out and stay up the night with me, pm me or reply here. again, if this work, you must note that doing this every day just isn't practical. At the very least, you should do it on weekends.

Lastly, I would like it if I can take credit for this technique if it works and give this technique a name. i want to see if this will work first before thinking about it though. I will also give credit for those who will participate in this experiment.

-thank you for taking time to read this. Any questions, concerns, or lab rats are welcomed

I have tryed this multiple times, be prepared to fall asleep and not be able to do it, I am sure its possible to do it if you try hard enough though.
I guess you could compare Lucid Dreams & Reality to a computer, the only difference between reality and a lucid dream is that one is stored on the Hard Drive and the other purely in RAM, if you don't try to remember it, you wont.

I'm slightly confused as to the aim of the technique here - by staying up late I assume you're trying to put your body into a REM-rebound and have increased REM periods so that you have an increased amount of dreams, but are you then trying to WILD into the dream or just hoping for an increase in your chances for having a DILD? Some clarification as to the actual effectiveness of this technique would be helpful.

Also if you're looking into this you might be interested in trying the CAT (Cycle Adjustment Technique)

      6) CAT - "Cycle Adjustment Technique"

This induction method relies on your internal sleep cycle and "REM rebound" to produce lucidity. The dreamer uses an alarm clock to wake up 90 minutes earlier than they normally do for at least a week, so their body becomes used to being aware and awake during this period of time. After this, the person does not set their alarm clock and continues to sleep. At this time, they have a good chance at becoming lucid because the mind was expected to wake up, but the person is still asleep and in a dream. The mind waking up while in a dream = lucidity. This method is essentially the precursor (or supplement) to a DILD.
This is looking to me as a spin on CAT, and a little similar, but it's possible it will work well for you!

I already tried it and I must say that I was really successful. I also experienced that for me it's much easier to achieve lucidity when my body is really tired. What also helped me was to spend the time before going to bed with things that had something to do with dreaming. Well, first I did a lot of sports and trained really hard until 2am, then I took a shower and went outside to get fresh air, I wrote my DJ and then I started to draw a picture about astral traveling.. I did a lot of RC's and was thinking about having a lucid dream tonight. And I had lucid dreams, a few this "night". I did this because I always had most success with lucid dreaming in the early morning and when my body was really tired but my mind still awake.

Well I supose whatever works for you! I look forward to seeing how well it works - I think considering it's previous success for you it should work quite well - it's just a shame you can't use it more often

This isn't really a new technique. Many people do this to hit rem rebound. CAT is also really similar.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
