      The difference lies in the fact that you don't have to do anything or follow any teachings to be an atheist. You don't even need to believe in anything. We are all born atheists and we remain that way unless we make a concious decision otherwise or are badly socialised.

      You don't have to do anything or follow anything, to 'call' yourself a Christian. Isn't that the entire point of the thread? People apparently call them self Christian without putting any thought into what it means to be one, and they don't bother to do anything special or really follow the teachings of the church.
