If God is supposed to be omniscient, then God is aware of everything that goes
on even within our individual selves. God essentially experiences social
interaction, emotions, and things like belief and lack thereof through us, much
in the same way our brain is still aware of the interaction of dream characters
in our dreams on a subconscious level.

If that's the case, the state of the human race shows god has got to be one miserable fuck.

Humanity is not the only thing that exists, and we are not restricted only to suffering.

Both valid points, both countered by the fact that we're allegedly the only beings with souls and the fact that joy seems to only happen on a small scale, whilst war, poverty, famine, tyranny, sickness and disease, torture, murder, rape, death and other issues with a negative connotation happen on both the individual level and a mass scale. For every wedding there is a genocide. For every couple that falls in love, there is a dictator oppressing his people. For everyone who has a good day at work, there is another drinking at home alone. Humanity is in a state of disillusion, surrounding by negativity ten fold for every piece of joy.

I believe sometimes "negative" things are necessary. But it doesn't change them from causing the emotions and suffering they do.

My point still stands.

It is because God is infinitely powerful and therefore has to work within the rules of reality which he cannot control. Well, he could, but screw it. He loves you soooooooooooooooo much. Thus, it is better for him to create you while knowing you will burn forever than it would be for him to screw you over by not giving you choices you don't realize will lead you to eternal torture. It's about extreme love and infinite power. Burn!!!!!!!!

It's because God doesn't exist.

You are talking about a religion's beliefs, and thereby restricting the possibilities of our discussion.

=| Those numbers would be a little extreme, I think.

About the issue of suffering and God being miserable because of it, that
brings up other scenarios about what the nature of a true God could possibly
be. Perhaps a God must suffer. Perhaps not. It may be possible that God is
neutral and represents that which is entirely "good" and that which is entirely
"evil". The experience of malevolent behavior may be experienced as a
fleeting thing, meaningless. If there is such thing as a God that interacts
with the universe, it could possibly follow that the destruction of malevolent
empires was due to the fact that this God's attention, awareness, lucidity,
was brought about due to mass suffering.

These are all ifs and maybes and possibilities. My experiences with peoples'
notion of God has shown me that they are very uncreative and, again,
restricted in their thinking.

Also, any infinitely powerful God should be able to destroy itself. Maybe,
after it has experienced everything, it does this and all begins over again
from scratch, no memory, no nothing. I don't know. Possibilities are damn
near endless, and without hard evidence, that's all they'll remain to us for
the time being.
