change not always socially acceptable, but it IS natural, is it not?

I don't understand how this leads to the end of the world.

Sure, luddism is often wrong, as in the case of your examples. But it's patent that social and technological change can be regressive to the human condition as well as progressive. Hence we have to be careful and responsible about things.

There have always been naysayers about change but this hasn't caused change to cease and it certainly hasn't caused the end of the world.

well, not necessarily the end of the world, but we could have hit a dead end which was also a possibility.. so many cultures in the world have stuck to tradition and have barely advanced at all.
