Can someone clarify with me why Atheists and Theist do such things as argue? What objective do we hope to accomplish, even on small message boards? Aren't we all insecure about the things we believe in?
Of course you could say the Atheist wishes to "straighten" the world out with all the Islamic terrorism in God's name. But why do it here in the U.S.? Or Britain? Or is it just simply to "educate" others about what is ridiculous to believe in?
On the Theist side, a great deal of belief in God is influenced by the existence of a place of punishment, Hell. Like Atheists the Theist also wishes to straighten out the opposing party, possibly for that party's well being, or the confirmation of their own beliefs.
