the easiest way to get rid of a jehovah witness is to read passages from the bible, even if you're an atheist you could still do it. or at least that's what i've heard from people, most of the time if they ever come around here we open the door and when they say they're jehovahs we close the door. i've also heard if you have an american flag in your yard they'll avoid the house, but i don't know

I was told that when I was a Christian! Well, the bible bit. Apparently Jehovah's witnesses miss parts out of the Bible and don't understand it.

However, when they came around we talked bible for many hours and I was perfectly satisfied with their answers. They knew their stuff even if they were incapable of justifying the smallest one of their beliefs. This is a weakness all Christians I have ever spoken to have, so it didn't bother me.

I have a translation of their bible. Its a bit too literal for me. It often sacrifices prettiness for accuracy of translation. I keep it around. If I need to find a Bible verse, I read that translation first, then get my translation from the NIV.
