I'm also just throwing out that there are reasons behind the headscarf as well. Rules and regulations between male/female interaction are much more rigid under Islam in order to try and prevent temptation that tends to come more easily from scantily clad women. It's supposed to help keep men from having impure thoughts, however successful/unsuccessful that may be. Different people are attracted to different things - the face, breasts, hair, etc. They're just trying to cover all the bases... at least if they're good Muslims. Yeah indeed, the reason why the Koran says women need to cover their bodies is because the body of women is sacred. Watching the female body will aruouse "the devil" inside men, and will distract them from their goal. Being able to see the female body naked all the time will make it worth less.. if you understand what I mean. Why does everybody think that this is the solution? How about this? Of course its bloody control. Why do women in Islamic countries have much less rights than men? Because the Koran has been written in a sexist way that gives men all the power. A woman can be stoned for not being found to be escorted by a man. Even if it was the males fault for being absent, the woman still gets the death penalty.
